A lot of my mates were planning on going. Then they read the spectator information.

Yeah it's put me off, too.

Well according to some on a certain forum, spectators aren't wanted/ needed at rally events.

Well yeah, if there are no spectators then the "spectator problem" goes away. Although so does the next generation of organisers, marshals and competitors.

It won't be long until the only rallying allowed is that which takes place on roundy roundy tracks.

I'll be there Monday. Marshalling tho not spectating (well marshalling is basically spectating, but for free!). Not seen the spec info and being really thick can't see this years spec info!?? (Anyone share a link to it?)

If the other sources have initials in some arrangement of RFB then that place is full of assholes! I keep dropping in and out of that forum every now and then and never fail to be amazed at the stupidity of some people on there and what they say rolleyes

At least they tell you there are restrictions. Imagine driving 100-150+ miles to be stuck in the same place all day.

Had a great dry day at pembrey (a rarity in itself!).

Been took the honours in the Suirway Mk2 Escort and was spectacular all day, there were few corners he took without sliding the back end out. I've followed him for a long time but his driving yesterday looked on another level!

I was tasked with marshalling around the go kart track area, and even though it itself was a no speccy area it was well subscribed all day and they behaved perfectly, keeping the organisers and MSA observers happy!
It was however under marshalled and without spectators more than one car would have succumbed to the soaking wet grass/mud pools. One fellow marshal even had a complaint from a spectator, "there aren't enough marshals here" was what he was told!

WRC news - Loeb has confirmed he's returning to WRC with a Junior WRC team run by Loeb, Elena and a friend.

The journalists seem desperate for Loeb to return - so any story is blown up "Loeb returns to the WRC" when actually his team SLR will run a JWRC programme; as well as WTCC, Porsche SuperCup, French GT etc

I'd recommend people listen to the Absolute Rally podcast with Mark James; and hear his views on the WRC and the promotion ( or lack of) fascinating and right on the mark......
