Mulsannes Corner have a good analysis of the car. The 3.0l V6 twin turbo drives the front wheels and a flybrid system harvests from the the front wheels and can send power to all 4 wheels. Can't wait for Silverstone!

Ugly looking thing although I quite like it from a low angle. The front looks very nice.

I'm not too fussed about how it looks, it's just great to see another manufacturer back in P1.

If Panoz made LMP cars to today's rule book...

cry if only it was allowed to sound like a Panoz did, once upon a time you could lie in your tent on the Saturday night and know exactly where one was on the track at any given time, that is unless you were confusing it with the sound of a Vette after a few too many Jagerbombs!!

Nissan seem to love doing things the hard way lately. Good on them!

Exactly!! Good on them. As Darren Cox likes to remind us "We like to do things differently..." listen to his interview with Hindy on RLM.

The WEC really is showing other motorsport series up with the range of cars, technology being used; and we haven't even scratched the surface. I'm a rallyfan first and foremost, yet the WRC is ultra conservative. 1.6T, 4WD.....and the 2017 regs don't seem to be going to be much different. F1 is also left behind; all with 1.6T V6 engines, with hybrids and all on the same 'control tyres'.

I love how no two cars have the same kind of engine/layout or hybrid system in WEC. It was already ace last year with mix of petrols and diesel, V4 to V8 and now Nissan have even moved the engine to the wrong place. Hopefully they're all competitive and fighting for wins throughout the season!

The nighttime will be epic to watch with flames coming from the bonnet. That car looks bonkers, I love it already. Bring on Le Mans! biggrin

Moved the engine to the wrong place, AND it's a V6. So another new configuration as well.

It will probably get more coverage for being front engined and losing/not finishing then winning and rear engined good call Nissan smile

This is great news - I'm going to Le Mans this year so it will be the 2 German brands versus the 2 Japanese brands. bounce

There is transmission to the rear wheels, described in the Road and Track article.
Well no transmission-

But maybe a couple of small motors somehow packed into that tiny space with the suspension.
