Now that is excellent data, thanks for sharing. Where has it come from? Would love to keep an eye on this through the season.
A few things stick out to me. I remember thinking at the time that both Audis' fastest race laps were head and shoulders above the rest, but that they didn't seem that quick on track - now it seems obvious they each did a single lap at qualifying pace early on. I would have been interested to compare Mark Webber's laps to his co-drivers as they all seem bloody fast, but then, I imagine they'd have liked that too..
In P2, both G-Drive crews are very impressive across the board, Nick Tandy is the only one who looked capable of challenging them. I read he will be driving the third Porsche 919 at Spa, with Hulkenberg and Earl Bamber. It's a bit of an indictment for Nick Leventis in the Strakka car, though.. 38 laps an average of five seconds down on your team-mates = a lap and a half lost. I don't remember the car carrying any sort of issue while he was driving?
Little to call in GTE Pro, AMR clearly setting the pace as in qualifying but just not out on the circuit for long enough. Surprising to see the Turner/Mücke car looking slowest. It's interesting to see how much wider the laptime spread is in Am! There are some really huge gaps within driver teams here, much more than I expected, worst in the 77 Porsche and 96 Aston.

Individual drivers' times. Can give you an idea of speedy and slower drivers within each car.

Agree with previous poster re Patrick Dempsey. Ouch.
At least he was consistent...
Still, without his cash and determination his teammates might not have a drive.
Let's face it if we were in his shoes we'd all give it a go despite lacking the talent to match the pros.

Absolutely. It takes time as well for him to build up his speed I suppose. I quite like the fact gentleman drivers still have a place even if is just for nostalgic reasons. I don't think his slower times cause an issue (safety) for other drivers so all good by me. Besides he attracts a crowd which is good for WEC.Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
