Those topspeed stats look interesting in P2 - if they can carry that straight line speed advantage into Le Mans it should be good news for KCMG...
Coupe's are generally more efficient with the aero.... the question is how much the others can trim out the wings and still have a proper balance through the corners... no point in going like the 'clappers' down the straight if you loose more time through the corners... a clever balancing act.... that Nissan is just embarking upon

It was a good race, to bad that the Corvette had to retire after a crash.

Nissan testing live now:

https://www.periscope.tv/w/VyoPXzgyOTA3NXw5MzM0MTM...

He's just said that the car is passing him at about 200mph!

ETA Finished now but he said they will be back. Follow Nissan Nismo on twitter to get the link.

The car sounded great when they started it up, proper noise!

According to the RLM commentary, the 2016 cars will be slower than this year's cars, what is changing? smile
They don't like to let them get too quick at Le Mans, so next year they will reign them in a bit.

Toyota have been comprehensively over taken haven't they?
The Le Mans spec Audis are a step up from the #9 old spec car too. Will Toyota be bringing an upgrade or different spec to Le Mans?

They've said this before and they always find a way to get back up to quick times. I think they have a brilliant set or rules right now and should just leave it all alone. Including the LMP2 rules.

I'm guessing they will knock back the fuel allowance to give even more emphasise on recovery systems. Audi might suffer with their heavy diesel and less powerful hybrid system. I quite like the P1 rules, it is what is driving the efficiency and development of these current beasts.

You think they are going to F1 or just quiting WEC? If Nissan comes good it could be a 4 way fight which might interest Audi. Plus WEC technology has been good for their road cars

Is there anyway to watch this?

I've been hearing more and more about the WEC and as a life long F1 fan I wouldn't mind giving it a try. I've found lots of links to live race feeds but nothing obvious for when I've missed the boat?

Plus if you have a smartphone or tablet, there's a rather excellent FIA WEC app which has live timing, results, team info and can show the race footage as well smile

This may come in handy for Le Mans next month, as it's not broadcast on the free-to-air Motors TV, but on Eurosport instead.

You might wanna let Audi know as they've already started developing the 2016 car.

I do hope they stay and fight Porsche. Speculation was they they were quitting this and DTM around october 2014. Last weeks resignation of Piech might stir things up a bit though.

It would be great for the sport if Audi stayed in the WEC. The huge grudge match between Audi and Porsche will be awesome this year.

He's already quoted in magazines that they have already started building the 2016 so unless they do a Peugeot they will be there.

Quote from the June Motorsport magazine
" I have to ask Dr Ullrich if Audi is considering a move away from WEC. Might the firm be tempted into the new hybrid formula 1? I do not expect the answer to be yes or no.

Right now it is not a scenario we have in mind he says. We are already developing the WEC car for 2016 so we see the route ahead for the next years."
