I'd recommend this. I went in 2013. Left central London after work on the Friday, was at the circuit just after midnight to enjoy a few Belgian beers before bedtime.
Speedchills have a very cheap hotel / hostel just outside the circuit and you can be back in time to enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend. There was apparently a McLaren track day on the Monday, so it might have been worth waiting for that I guess....
The circuit is all open and the pit roof brasserie and area that's used for the paddock club for F1 is free to get into so you have a great view into the pits.
Obviously the cars are incredible on that circuit.

I'm definitely going, tickets and hotels all booked.
For raceday, would I be right in thinking that the best entrance and car park to aim for is at the La Source end of the circuit via the Ster gate?
When at the track, where are there tunnels or bridges to get from one side to the other?
Cheers,
DC

I always park at Les Combes, especially easy for this event - last year I only had about 50 yards to walk to the trackside! For raceday, would I be right in thinking that the best entrance and car park to aim for is at the La Source end of the circuit via the Ster gate?

As it's a long race, one has time to get to all parts anyway.
There are also short cuts back to the paddock through the woods from that end (at Pouhon).
