Stage 9 cancelled due to a crash for Paddon, which involved spectators. Crew are okay, no exact news on the spectators yet.

Latvala stopped on the penultimate stage. Lucky for Ogier whos championship lead will now be unaffected.

Evans now into 3rd biggrin

Come on Kris, bring it home biggrin

top result, well done Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle. Classy as well to dedicate it to Colin.

an interesting statistic. Of the modern world champions ( post 1990) Kris Meeke's debut win took 27 starts ( in top class machinery, JWRC or Grp N etc not counted)

On that basis here is how long it took all the others to win their first event

Auriol - 6
Kankkunen - 8
Loeb -10
Makininen - 12
Mcrae - 15
Ogier - 19
Sainz - 20
Burns - 21
Meeke - 27 ( not wrc champ , yet!)
Gronholm - 30
Solberg - 46.

Whilst in years it has taken a long time for Kris to break his duck, in reality he is up there with the best.

Well done Meeke but as a Welsh man I'm happier for Evans and can't wait for him to pick up the pace and take the top step... hopefully! !

Brilliant results for both Meeke & Evans - 1st double GB podium since New Zealand 2001 (I think). Really enjoyed the event - and now hope this win will allow Kris to drive freely and win some more events soon, pace on both gravel and tarmac - hopefully makes him a contender on all events - and the DS3 looks pretty handy too.

Great weekends rallying biggrinclapthumbup

The agony!!!

I was boarding a plane from Heathrow to Detroit when the WRC App updated showed Latvala having engine issues on the way to the penultimate stage - I then had to turn the phone off!

I've just landed to find the news - congratulations to Meeke, Nagle, Evans and Barritt. Brilliant. bouncewoohooclap
