Magic may be but not in the right location, just like Excel would not have been anywhere near as good.
So Crystal Palace isn't the right location but Battersea Park is?

I don't think its possible to use the Palace as a circuit anymore anyway (as parts are no longer accessible), so the point is rather moot, but why on earth would you consider Battersea a better location?

There was racing at Crystal Palace last month, but the track is only 6 metres wide in places.

Not racing as such, but a hillclimb, I participated. Course only uses about 850 yards of the old circuit, some of which is sadly lost forever

It was a sprint rather than a hillclimb. I was car #1. Most of the circuit could be reused, but the back straight would be narrow.

Wow - I have no idea who in their right mind would pay £££ for this. I had naively assumed there would be some free viewing, so as to attract passing business. Still, on the other hand, most of it seems sold out, so I'm obviously not the typical viewpoint.

Free viewing at an international sporting event? Mind you, at £16, it is practically free. That's club level Motorsport ticket prices.

You mean like the ITU Triathlon that ran in Hyde Park last month? With Olympic Champions, World Champions and everything? I'm not knocking it per say, I was just surprised that there wasn't a "passing interest" option. £16 is very affordable, especially if there's a decent/interesting support package.

Track looks terrible, narrow and doesn't seem flat, looks more like a roller coaster compared to other tracks.

one of the corners has been called "Prince Albert", probably because it's a tight fit and makes your eyes water the first time.

Very live qualifying hehe . Sarrazan just got held up in traffic on his lap, the radio call sounded a lot like "fk off!". Commentators sort of apologise about maybe saying something in French.

Albert Bridge is near the corner but yeah the track is st. I cycled around it the other night on the way to tennis and thought it was incredibly narrow but didn't notice the bumps on my mountain bike however the camber has always been there.

Narrow, bumpy, cambered, tight corners... There will probably be a first lap pile up in the race like Monaco.

Here we go, Yamamoto out now. He'll test the track limits and wall strength.

I can also see a few cars failing to finish the race because the batteries have been shaken loose, I have never seen a more bumpy surface for a race outside of a rally cross track.

Chandhok beat him to it, and will start from the back of the grid again. He's used to it though.
