Hi all,

We are looking to get some driveshafts done for our Liverpool formula student car this year, but we are struggling to find someone to do it.

We have 2 steel blank halfshafts of 450mm long - these need cutting to length, and splines machining into each end to fit the 20-spline tripod joints on our diff and hubs. We can supply the spline data and a sample tripod.

It's apparently not an easy job and it requires some specialist tooling.

We were going to use WB Lee of Leeds, they are really struggling to fit us in.
Last year we used Brands Mechanical but we have had a falling out with them over their work.

Can anyone please recommend someone else? Distance does not matter as we can post stuff.

ETA - We are apparently currently looking at Hopwood Gears Oldham if anyone can recommend them as being able to do it?

Thanks chaps,

On the back of this thread we had a recommendation via PM from a Sheffield team member, it's been passed to our team management and I believe it's all now in hand smile
