That will be the considered opinion of an expert in motor sport and car control then!
Some how I don't think so.

I think MBH was around then, in the late middle ages.

If we had one 90% of the posts would be from people who don't like drifting and desperately need to tell everyone. The word chav would be used to the point where it loses all meaning.

Well nothing changed there then has it.
At least 90% on nearly all other threads are also full of krap!

So I assume you have a synergy with the word chav then jester

but yes.....you got me good and proper there pal.

If driftings your bag then fine just not so keen myself but hey its a broad church and wouldn't do if we all liked the same thing.

Hi - well fine - many on here have had years of experience of one or maybe two disciplines but that does not make them "experts" does it!
I myself rallied for over 6 years (many years ago - Mini Cooper S and Mexicos) at an amateur level.
In addition I have driven Formula 3 and Formula Ford cars. Numerous Track Days on various tracks including Oulton Park and the Nordschleife on both two and 4 wheels.
So maybe instead of being disrespectful to other skilled drivers "Because its a bit st and no-ones interested....." you should have said what you did in the later post!

"If driftings your bag then fine just not so keen myself but hey its a broad church and wouldn't do if we all liked the same thing."
That is a reasonable point of view.

Just in case you don' know Drifting/Twin Drifting is a real test of both car control/skill and focus just like any other motor sport.

Anyway I hope you continue to enjoy competing in your chosen motor sport and stay safe.

So true but don't they always. Well I have been active on here since Aug 2002 and nothing much has changed in that area ;-)

If it helps; I competed in the Eurodrift Championship and the British Drifting Championship, and I struggle to maintain any interest in watching other people drifting.

I love doing it, and I totally understand the skill involved at the top level (because it's significantly more skill than I have), but once I've seen a perfect run I don't need to see another.

I am also an MSA licence holder. It's not much of a qualification unless you say which licence you have. Mine isn't worth mentioning.

My son was a major competitor too. I get what you are saying - but when they twin it's real good to watch from outside - inside does not give you the feel for what is happening.
Mind you I have found BTCC and F1 real bloody boring too. The best motor sport to watch is definitely Motor bikes - be it BSB or WSB - now those guys do compete at the most intense level and skill.

Yes, but I think it has to be a sport to get in to the Games (as per the argument about darts)!
....and Snow Boarding, Ice skating (dance and figure), Hot Dogging (be careful ;-)) - Ski Jumping - Equestrian Dressage etc.
Try telling boxers that what they do isn't a sport. Judged innit. A game of punching at best. Unless there is a knockout, in which case the other guy wins, like if there is a spin in drifting, except somehow more sporty because of illogic.

Is football a sport? It's judged isn't it? Chap with a whistle decides who did best within the rules.

Is F1 a sport? Speed of cars decided by rules, penalties for crossing the wrong line or going too fast in the wrong place or while a man is waving a particular flag. I'm sure a chap won a championship once by crashing in to someone else and not even finishing that race, how unsporting is that?

Autotests are definitely a sport. A Motorsport even. I have a trophy somewhere from an MSA approved event for being quite quick at parking and reversing and stopping in boxes when my time was divided by the length of my car with time added on for touching a cone. Definitely more of a sport than driving around a track within inches of a prescribed line while only having grip on one pair of wheels.

I love how they repeat the bits where F1 cars oversteer, because it's dramatic. Imagine if there was a motorsport that was just made up of that bit - how cool would that be?

Blimey.......touched a nerve there didn't I ? My comment was purely tongue in cheek, calm down dear it's just a forum....

Look, I'm not keen on it and happen to think it's a bit repetive and don't see the point. Don't doubt it takes skill though.

Glad to see we're all driving gods though although my MSA Licence ain't worth mentioning either!! laugh
