Awful news but boy, he lived his life didn't he? He still did more than most of us ever will.

Incredibly unlucky that out of the whole volume of that area of the track that large bit of debris hit the relatively tiny target of his head. RIP Justin Wilson

I've just remembered an interesting memory about Justin.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to be involved in a very minor way in an auction of Williams memorabilia. There was a lot of stuff which was bundled in with the general listed lots which were not in the inventory including two race suits.

One was the race suit which was cut off Ralf Schumacher when he had his Indy crash complete with blood stains and what appeared to be other fluid marks....

The other was totally mint and in the bag, a Williams BMW race suit with the name Justin Wilson sewn into the belt. Can't remember him testing the car but clearly he came very close to at least trying it.

What might have been..... frownfrownfrown

A top bloke, a lovely bloke and one of the genuine nice guys - even if you did try to chat up my sister when you used to live in Northampton.

RIP and say hi to Dan for all of us.

I went to the same school as him and although I never spoke to him I remember him getting prizes for his karting during assembly and the like. I recall nobody ever had a bad word to say about him, despite him having an amazing skill and living the dream (especially at that age). A great guy by all accounts.

RIP

Such sad news, when I heard about the crash I had a terrible feeling this may have been the result frown

This is dreadful news especially for his family.

There is a fine tribute to him here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYqLKo-gOxQ
the Fast Lane Car website for whom he drove fast sports cars from time to time - the last occasion being in a Jaguar F-Type.

Really hope a safety lesson can be learnt here. Otherwise it will just be a waste of yet another talented individual.

Very sad news. A sad day for motorsport, another life lost.

Godspeed, Justin. May you find peace, and encounter in the afterlife all the great racers that were once with us.
