Such a shame, it seems like such a freak accident.

Thoughts with his friends and family.

Well reported Skeggysteve, thanks.

Just to really bring this home: http://www.straitstimes.com/sport/motor-racing-ind...

Humbling, moving and inspiring in the wake of such loss and tragedy. My thoughts are with all his family.

I was fortunate enough to find myself sat alongside Justin in an Audi TT many years ago at Bedford on a Palmer day. He analysed my driving for a lap or two, watching me turn in too early and understeering around the place going in too hot. He then asked me if I wanted the fastest time of the day and told me to do as I was told as soon as he told me. Cue a couple of eye opening fast laps with him grabbing the wheel more than once to correct me as I learnt a lot very quickly. I can't remember if I got the fast lap or not but it was great trying and a life long memory of an early track experience he created for me. Really sad news.

I don't post on here very often, but today I find myself reading how Justin had touched other peoples lives without even knowing some of them. I guess that kind of sums him up, kind hearted and totaly selfless. I won't go into how many charity's Justin took his own time out for, or the countless schools across America he visited to see dyslexic children, or the hospital children's wards he visited in between testing and racing and working on motoring magazine shoots. And you thought motor racing was a weekend job? And on top of all that he was such a loving and caring farther and husband to Julia and their kids.
I have just spoken with his brother Stefan only an hour ago, probably the most difficult conversation iv'e had with him in the 22yrs I've known him.
I spent the start of today heartbroken and then was later left humbled by the amount of sincere messages from right across the motoring world from touring cars to F1, even a message from the great Mario Andretti!
I will leave it here with just a heart felt thankyou to you all for your support and kind words.
Regards
Darren.

Probably like many others on PH's I had the pleasure of meeting Justin in his younger years when he worked at Bedford as his day job, very pleasant young man with a mile wide smile and had the ability to make you think that you were the only person he was talking too

The brightest stars seem to burn out first, very sad

Quite proud to say Im one of the small chaps who invested £500 into Justin. Its been a pleasure to give a bloke a helping hand and see him achieve success at the top.

Well done lad, clink a glass with Dan.

I remember the opportunity to invest in him. He never really got the opportunity to show his talent in F1, I guess the big teams must have considered his height and weight. There has been so much hypotheses and opinion on safety. However, I think like Henry Surtees, this is an utterly freak accident, wrong place at the wrong time.

Motor racing will always be dangerous. There are those who have the opinion that it always should be.

It should always be dangerous with efforts made to minimise those dangers. One of humanity's great strengths is to accept such contrary positions and then both mourn and celebrate the two extremes.

I didn't realise that his Minardi was built specifically for his height. How he then managed to get into the Jaguar is a mystery.

I've seen a couple of pictures of him in the Daytona prototype he was sharing with 2 others and he looks like he must have been poured into the thing, steering wheel up against his chest!

I'll wager he never complained about it though.
