Anybody else going?

Should be a good weekend! I'm hoping Toyota have made some strides so we see a 3 way battle in LMP1. Still can't believe that Nissan aren't going to be there but oh well. Now Strakka have a Gibson in LMP2 it should be a really good battle!

Whole race live on Motors tv for me.

Especially as the weekend looks like a washout.

What else is there to do ?

By sheer good luck we were over last weekend for a now annual pilgrimage to drive a few laps around the 'Ring. I was initially a bit miffed to learn that the GP circuit was closed as this was good fun last time we visited.

This turned to delight when I discovered why it was closed - the WEC was in town. Managed to see a bit of practice on the Friday followed by qualifying on the Saturday. Having been glued to LeMans the past few years I had always wanted to see the cars in the flesh and was not disappointed.

Qualifying was followed by a couple of races which included a 'Ring Legends race. A variety of cars came out including three Mini Coopers which stole the show - gave some of the "faster" cars a bloody nose every time they entered the hairpin and they received the loudest cheers of the day from the German crowd on their in lap after the race.

All in all a great weekend and would have taken in the race as well if we did not have a ferry to catch on Sunday. Weather was fantastic too!
