I'm posting this on behalf a French acquaintance on SELOC:
Help us supporting Ledenon, a fabulous track
Hi guys,
Not usualy asking for many things but here we go...
The circuit de Ledenon is a fabulous hilly track in South of France, IMHO one of the most technical and enjoyable tracks in Europe. It is a family business: it has been designed 40y ago by the father (still alive, we shook hands last month) on top of a hill not far away from Orange / Mont Ventoux/ Pont du Gard and is very professionaly ran by the daughter and grand-children.
As usual, a few speculators have bought houses on the next hill recently and now complain about noise. They are supported by part of the authorities because the F gov has decided to promote another track nearby (and spent millions on subventions for that) by all means and by killing the privately owned Ledenon one day they hope to get customers making the switch on their small training track (which won't happen). Politics at their "best"...
Each year is a fight for Ledenon, and they survive like that since over 10y quite successfully (with noise restrictions already). However, as the people against Ledenon are still doing a lot of petitions and noise, someone had the idea to do a petition... To show that there is support for Ledenon!
I know there are more important causes in the world, but if you, like me and all French Frolicers, enjoy that track and don't want it one day to disapear as did Mas du Clos and (in effects due to silly noise restrictions) Charade, please help supporting on:
https://www.change.org/p/les-usagers-du-circuit-de...
All you need is to put name and mail, no need to add text, no need to tick the box at the bottom so this is really a 30 sec task...
Thanks for reading me
Claude

A worthy petition, but if the circuit is bringing in revenue for the town the Mayor will be behind it and tell the newcomers to put up for bog off - it's the French way. They look after businesses that bring in tourists and income for others.
A friend of mine has a guest house in the foothills of the Pyrenees and he's told me that if he has any grief with anyone, he speaks to the Mayor and it's sorted out. Barking dogs will get taken away by the Police and shot!! Nothing must stop a business that brings prosperity to the area!!
The circuit should enlist the support of their local Mayor - if they don't have it already - because he/she is the person that will sort it!
Support from a petition will help sway the Mayor too!
Good luck!
