They won't change anything they are in at the moment and they won't sign up to anything new. If they drop out of things then it looks bad, if they sign up for new budget expenditure when they have a massive bill looming then it looks bad.
Best thing they can do is just stay the course on their current projects and hold off on anything new.

I agree. I can see them running at least one more season in LMP1. If they are beaten next year by Porsche, they could try to spin it that Porsche was always going to beat them in their return to endurance racing and they leave quietly with their dignity intact. As long as they don't push the diesel winning Le Mans thing any more.
As for the rest of their racing operations, I don't think VAG will be making any brash decisions and things will likely remain as they are.
