With VW getting themselves in a bit of trouble that might cost them a lot of money, what are peoples thought about how this might effect their involvement in motorsports across the globe:

F1 with Redbull?
Audi at LeMans
VW in WRC
etc?

They won't change anything they are in at the moment and they won't sign up to anything new. If they drop out of things then it looks bad, if they sign up for new budget expenditure when they have a massive bill looming then it looks bad.

Best thing they can do is just stay the course on their current projects and hold off on anything new.

They must be absolutely stting themselves with all these diesel-powered racing cars that are now going to fail the stringent scrutineering emissions testing.

Their LMP1 cars are the immediate ones that I can see being affected if at all.

I agree. I can see them running at least one more season in LMP1.

If they are beaten next year by Porsche, they could try to spin it that Porsche was always going to beat them in their return to endurance racing and they leave quietly with their dignity intact. As long as they don't push the diesel winning Le Mans thing any more.

As for the rest of their racing operations, I don't think VAG will be making any brash decisions and things will likely remain as they are.
