Quite often claimed, and rightly so, as the best event in the UK Rallying calendar. Won't be there, but will be following the event on Rally radio coverage.

Hi,

I'm heading over on Thursday to spectate and visit the family. I've competed on 12 of the last 14 Mulls, but not this year due to a back injury in January.

Looks like a great event coming up, be interesting to see how Calum Duffy does in the Impreza after years of Mk2 Magic. I think the MINI WRC will be very competitive having had a year's experience. I also can't wait to see (and hear) Jimmy McRae's V8 Firenza!

I'll be cheering on Doug & Linda in the Vivid Rock Escort Mk2, starting car 21 - they were running 4th for most of last year's rally until a wee bump on the last stage. If they win, they've promised to get married!

Also (pedant mode) it's the "Mull Rally" and no longer "Tour of Mull". The latter name is owned by the 2300 Club who used to organise the rally. Now it's organized by the Mull Car Club (and friends) and goes by the name "Mull Rally".

Definitely the best event of the year. I even delayed surgery for lung cancer last year so I could go to the Rally.

You should know there is only one chocolate bar to be mentioned on any thread about the Mull Rally (Tour of Mull) and that is a Tunnocks.

You can make amends by entering and winning the teacake eating competition (Macgochans Thursday night).

I bet they don't have that on a WRC event

I was there, a few days of walks/photography and then the rally. What a tragedy that two competitor's lives were lost. John is out of hospital now so hopefully he will make a full recovery.

The traditional post-rally walk from Aros Hall to Ledaig was one of the most moving things I have ever experienced, especially Calum's poem.
