I see the race 2 grid is going back to being set by the first races result. It had to happen really, as it just didn't suit the BTCC, and drivers not taking the start to set a lap was robbing the fans part of a race really.
I think I'd have changed it to 2 qualifying sessions. One session on each tyre. Then if someone were to be punted off in race one, it doesn't affect their race 2 position. But it's not bad to go back to the previous solution.

I think teams should be limited to two cars, 3 or 4 is just too many and a bit boring seeing a huge grid with only a small variation of different cars.
I agree that teams should be limited to two cars, not so much for variety of cars but so as to be a more level playing field in the championships. Two cars max and min for each team both matching models and colour scheme is my favoured option. If a team wants to run 4 cars they can run a B team but must be a different colour scheme and score separately. Civic
Passat CC
Audi S3
Audi A4
Ford Focus
Chevy Cruze
BMW 125i
MG
Infiniti
Toyota Avensis
Proton
Even if we say the Civic variants only count as 1 car, that's hardly a "small variation." In the super touring era there was rarely that many different cars on the grid.
Which brings me neatly on to; 2 car teams, same livery. Super touring and the days of 2 car full factory teams with matching everything are gone. In the current climate it will never happen again. Even in Aussie V8s, 2 car teams often run totally different liveries depending on the car's sponsors.

Only two cars per team score in the team championships anyway so they aren't gaining an advantage that way by having more cars. If you have the rule of two cars per team you will end up with smaller grids as the chanpionship isn't currently over subscribed.emicen said:

I meant if every team runs 3 or 4 cars, i know this year there was a wide variety and its a good thingCivic

This from Alan Gow:
TOCA advised the teams that applications for any TOCA BTCC Licence (TBL) that may become available will only be considered if accompanied by complete details relating to the additional car, driver and funding. Should a TBL application be approved and any of the details provided subsequently change prior to the season starting, then TOCA may immediately withdraw the licence and re-issue it to another applicant. As previously advised to the teams, any applications for additional TBLs must be lodged by the end of October 2015.
Virtually all BTCC driver deals are quite late and even last minute just before Media day so I wonder how many deals will be completed in the next 4 days if teams want an extra licence.

thought that was the idea, to get away from the lastminute.com driver deals. If you are serious about doing it then you will spend the previous summer putting the deal together. etc. If that is not possible the TOCA don't want you. Then again inn the current climate maybe AG is living in cloud cookoo land.

Are the two who score chosen prior to the race weekend or season or are they highest two scorers in the team per race or (total cumulative) weekend? If it is the highest two then they still have a clear advantage as a team. fk1_6 said:

I don't see how. Even if BMR had 10 cars and they always finished 10 or lower they still wouldn't win it based on that rule.Munter said:

I would have liked to see race 2 chosen on the second quickest lap in the session, and make the session slightly longer. But it's not bad to go back to the previous solution.

Jackson isn't confirmed yet though, I'll be pissed off if it's Jordan and Cole. Jackson deserves a fair crack at the title, he's got plenty of race wins under his belt, just needs to convert that to a title.
I do hope Jackson is back but didn't cole sign a multi year deal with the team could be wrong on that mind you. I know motorbase either sold or lent out there 3rd tbl so maybe they will take it back and run 3 cars again for 2016 for Jordan/Jackson/cole could be a possibility of that might not.MG CHRIS said:

They're applying for a third and hopefully they'll get it. That Dextra Focus is a liability.Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
