Does any know, or recommend, a company that supply custom in ear headphones?

I used the below. They were very good and it was an easy fitting process.

The big Boots stores in the UK also offer the service.

These guys are popular in skydiving circles too - I was looking at getting a set done myself.

Not cheap (and the moulds alone are quite a bit)

I've used Autotel and had no issues.

I'm trying a pair of these to see what they're like. I haven't used them in anger yet (they're for motorsport but I'll now not be driving until next season), but I can report that Ultimate Ear have been good to deal with and the moulding process was quick and easy and done at my house (the other option is their HQ in Orpington).

Please let me know how you get on with them - from your posts on here in the past I know you do things properly.

I'm thinking about getting their cheaper ones (no earphones) as I've really caught the bug for tunnel flight (indoor skydiving) and it's properly deafening even with a pair of disposable plugs and a proper fuill-face skydiving helmet.

Will do, no problem. I won't be trying them until the racing season starts again in March, but if I remember I will post back then. I went for the set that reduce the sound, rather than block it out - hopefully it'll be reduced enough!

While the product is decent enough, UltimateEar after sales care isn't good.

I've found it good so far. My first set of mouldings arrived at UE broken (despite me packaging them double boxed with bubble wrap), but they phoned me immediately to tell me, arranged for a new moulding to take place at my house and picked up the bill. I realise we need hundreds of responses to truly get a reliable picture, but a sample of two is better than a sample of one! smile

The braiding frayed less than a year into ownership. Dropped them an email with a photograph and they said they'd take a look at it and determine if its a manufacturing defect. If it is, then they will fix for free. If they determine it isn't a manufacturing defect I'd have to pay 35 pounds for the 'inspection' and to return them to me as-is or the repair for a new cable is 60 pounds. Outside of a year however and any issue at all would incur a 35 quid 'inspection' fee.

Not the kind of post-sales care one expects after spending 265 pounds on a set of impressions & plugs.

I have a set of custom mounded Autotel 'phones. Very good quality and fit very well. You'll need to get ear moulds done and all in, they end up being about £250 excluding the £200 for the mic and connection kit!
