Worth a wee nod of acknowledgment today

10 years ago today a decent bloke was taken from the world far too soon.

He also drove some cars, often very well.

Still one of the best little tributes I have seen by Top Gear.

Always a sad day of the year. Great driver and bloke to boot. His name lives on though through The Richard Burns Foundation and their work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqGUD6Wz14w

I remember it well

I was going to see the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wales that had recently opened to public.

Just arrived at the car park the news about Richard came on the radio frown

I was at my girlfriend (at the times) house and it was on Ceefax (old school).

I phoned my mum to tell her - she doesn't even like motorsport, but it made even her sad.

Everyone seemed to like the man!

Ten years; where does the time go?

I went along to the Prodrive memorial, it was very well attended by hundreds of Subaru owners. I found the commemorative magazine the other day and had a little flick through.

Taken too soon.

Such a massive hero of mine, really can't believe its been 10 years. I'll always say every year that I'm gutted I was less than a mile from ever seeing him compete, it was his 2001 title win that got me to go to Margam Park in 2002.

RIP Burnsie
