Great video, but I'd find Coady's delivery very distracting, seems to be quite common with the Irish boys though.
Agreed, much prefer the calm and clear style of someone like Phil Mills..

Same here - being given the note for each corner 3 or 4 times would drive me nuts and probably result in confusion and crashing!

A lot of the mk2 lads seem to shout their notes. I know I've been taught and told on numerous occasions that the notes should be delivered calmly. The driver's hyped enough as is so no point in you adding to it by screaming notes at him!

Hang on a fking minute, what?

"Do we want the so-called gentleman drivers coming with these cars? No we don't."

WTF is going on?!

The whole 2017 WRCars issue doesn't seem to have been thought through very well. But who is surprised?

So, only Manufacturer entered team drivers can use them. So, will the current cars be 'grandfathered' enabling them to be used, and competitive V the 2017 cars?

The sport is trying to move on from the old days, were Joe Bloggs could buy a car and spec it up gradually to take on the big boys in his local WRC round. Now, you want a WRCar, R5 car, there's only really one place to get one. And is the sport any better?

Where does that leave someone like Henning Solberg, who is more experienced than a lot of the younger factory team drivers?

what fking berk came up with the 2017 rules!?

but that is effectively exactly what these morons are doing

We will look at the merits of each driver who applies
Does that mean that Ari Vatanen will walk in to a 2017 car if he decides to but a fast national level driver will get told to bugger off should they want to make a one off drive?
How will it work with JWRC drivers who can currently get gifted a seat in a full wrc car? Think Craig Breen over the last 2 seasons or so.

The least they can do now then is go ahead with the privateer championship that has been mentioned lately, but run it with 2016+ cars, so a step up to the 2017 specs wont be such a massive jump should they land a manufacturer seat.

I cant believe the FIA is run by an ex rally man, but the WRC is being let down so much at the same time banghead

What are your picks for Rally Finland this weekend? Probably 6 or 7 guys with a decent chance of winning, competition should be hot.

Well my fantasy wrc picks are -

Jari-Matti Latvala
Kris Meeke
Craig Breen
Elfyn Evans
Esapekka Lappi

I think its JML's event to lose. 2nd could go to any other of the other top 8 drivers.

Shakedown results -

Latvala 2m05.5s
Ogier +0.5s
Mikkelsen +0.5s
Neuville +0.6s
Ostberg +0.9s
Paddon +1.0s
Tanak +1.4s
Meeke +1.8s
Breen +1.8s
Abbring +2.3s

Well the chaps I went to the Monte and Sardinia with are in Finland this weekend, and going by the pictures and videos I've already seen, it looks incredible. Truly gutted not to be there with them!

As for the win you would think it has to be between Meeke an JML. Ogier has to win on gravel at some point this year though!

I have Latvala, Paddon and Ogier in fantasyWRC but can definitely see Meeke and Mikkelsen giving a strong challenge.

Neuville is an outside chance too, he seems to have finally found some decent form again lately. Tanak should be fast, but I don't know if the Dmack tyres will hold up as well as they did in Poland.

top 10 after SS6 Cars have returned to mid day service -

MEEKE 36:54.4
LATVALA +18.8
OGIER +23.3
MIKKELSEN +29.2
NEUVILLE +29.4
BREEN +33.2
OSTBERG +36.5
PADDON +39.2
CAMILLI +48.3
TÄNAK +53.9

Tanak has knackered suspension so has dropped a load of time. Breen has dropped from 3rd to 6th

Top job by the Citroen boys, if it wasn't for a slight over shoot Breen would be in the top 3!

Shame about Ogier..

Breen now into P3 with Meeke extending his lead! biggrin

Bertelli's co-driver Simone Scattolin was knocked out for a minute after their crash, but scans have given him the all clear smile

Breen is having a fantastic rally isn't he.

Paddon not quite as fast as usual, not sure if he just hasn't got the car dialled in quite right or what.

what a weekend for the Irish boys! managed to get a stable enough stream of the power stage to see the finish, and things got a little dusty when Breen finished and gave his interview frown

Amazing result for the Citroen team considering its allegedly running last years spec

Absolutely delighted for Breen!!! I was away all weekend at a hillclimb with limited access to the internet so we all waited we bated breath for the results.

He's a special talent and deserves to be in the WRC. When's the last time Citroen had two in the top three when one was a winner?!

Great to see the emotion as well. Some of the drivers I find can come across as boring (that might be too harsh a word) so to see him being so emotional, so human was great. Even I got a bit emotional watching the highlights!

Watched the highlights lastnight and there was no mention of this, but one of the stages had a chicane put in on a tarmac section with tractors on the road. Drivers and team bosses weren't happy after the recce, comparing the tractors on the stage to the recovery vehicles involved with Jules Bianchi, and they were on gravel tyres with less grip, but it stayed for the rally. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/125592.... Skip the video to 1:30.

Anyway, great job by Meeke and Breen thumbup

A truly stunning drive by meeke, more of that next year please kris.

Breen's drive was way beyond his years and very well deserved. Jaffa would have been proud mate.
