Why the end of TVR as well? That had nothing to do with the CofW, isn't it going to a site at RAF St Athan?
No Aston Martin going to St Athan. TVR to Ebbw Vale, presumably as part of the intended Motorsport hub centred around the circuit.

It's a bit up in the air at the moment, Welsh government keep blocking it. Or rather the environment department are. I live in that area and am extremely hopeful for it.

As far as jobs, it's 6000 during the construction phase as well as the R & D sites that will be built, hospitality, etc. . .I think 2500 is more accurate though.

Regardless of economics at any point I don't think 50% is an unreasonable amount of private investment to be required for a project of this type to be honest.

I would've loved to have seen the Silverstone Website Manager's facial expression when writing this (from their MotoGP preview....)

The Circuit of Wales steps up a gear at this year’s British MotoGP™ (September 01 – 04) as the spectacular race weekend is promoted solely by Britain’s newest leisure, business and motor sport venue!

Ahead of the British MotoGP™ taking place at the purpose-built £375 million South Wales valley venue for the first time in 2018, The Circuit of Wales will promote and run the event at Silverstone. This not only ensures race fans will continue to enjoy a magnificent motorsport weekend, it will also give them a taste of what to expect in terms of slick organisation and great all-family entertainment when MotoGP™ comes to its new home in Wales.

I bump into a chap at the MotoGP at Silverstone each year and ever since this mythical Welsh circuit was mentioned, I ask him every year whether it's going to return the following year. I look forward to seeing Derek on Saturday afternoon, but I feel I already know what his answer will be for 2017 & 2018....

Bumped into Derek on Saturday. He told me that Silverstone had MotoGP for 2017 with an option for 2018. I guess that's to cover the remote possibility that the new circuit might fail to be completed in time to host the 2018 event? Mind you, there were a lot of minibuses stickered up with the new circuit - I passed one broken down in Whittlebury on the way out. A metaphor perhaps?
