***The Official Rally Sweden Thread***
Discussion
Just watched some of this on BT sport, first time I have seen any rallying for ages - some thoughts
Commentary is terrible just babbling on and lacks any insight
Footage - badly edited, most of it is from in car footage and lacks any cameras out on the stages
Cars - they might be quick but they sound gutless on the flat out top gear sections, dull to watch.
To cheer myself I searched on you tube for some old Swedish rally clips and found some great coverage from 1986 Swedish rally - wow some great film lots of cameras out on the stages, fantastic cars that really challenged the drivers and exciting to watch.
I'm not going to bother watching tomorrow's coverage.

It's 2016, and that coverage is poor!! It's doing nothing to "sell" the WRC as a sport. Add in the WRC website timing hardly working is it a surprise interest in the sport is dropping off.
When you see other categories coverage & promotion, you just shake your head in despair. Red Bull just aren't getting the job done.

Yeh, when I bought WRC+ in Nov, it was after Rally GB, so everything was up here, and I was busy during Monte. Was looking forward to watching Sweden 'Live' - like, y'know, they say you can.
But only when they decide. Suddenly the 50 quid which seemed so reasonable, doesn't. I mean, it's still a load of content, but to watch a rally 'show' you only get a 1 hour highlights at the end of each day. Not very good.

He is improving very quickly! Apparently he is the first non european to be on the podium in Sweden!

Golf R drivetrained Polo, with those boxy arches is what the world really needs.
I've been saying for a while that all they really needed to do with the 2017 regs was move the cars up to the next size like the Golf/Focus, then just give them more power!Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
