With the demise of Motors TV on Freeview, what's the best way to get coverage of the WEC rounds? Presumably it's going to be at a cost, but is the App any good, or am I better off stumping up for Sky or Virgin? Any other Options?
If you've got a satellite dish up just get an old sky box and hook it up. You don't need a Sky sub as Motors is basically a freeview channel. The WEC might be streamed online, have a look at the RLM website or the WEC website.

I'll be there Fri-Sun, may have my son on Saturday too.
Does anyone know if I can pick up radio Le Mans on my iPhone while I'm there?
If you have data on your phone you can stream it directly from their website....or there are various free radio apps that have it live as well.Does anyone know if I can pick up radio Le Mans on my iPhone while I'm there?

The App or website access is £25 for the season including Le Mans. Plus this year you can replay it for up to 3 weeks after the race, so a bargain if you miss 1 liveDoes anyone know if the price in on the day is the same as the advanced tickets?
Advanced tickets are showing still available to purchase today for £35. I'm not 100% sure we'll make it, but with the family in tow if the difference is significant I'll buy now and make sure we get there some how!

It will be more expensive on the gate and you may have to queue. I think there is a ticket pick up booth on site if you book online but there isn't time to post them.Advanced tickets are showing still available to purchase today for £35. I think it's £5 extra ish per person if you pay on the day.
We just got our tickets through courtesy of a friend at Ford, looking forward to taking the little man to his first motorsport experience. What do people with small people and loud engine noises? Ear defenders have been suggested but I was thinking I'd just see how he is and pick some up there as surely they will sell them in one of the souvenir shops?

The little one may or may not need ear defenders, the only car that warranted them last year was the corvette, that and the fact the wind was scything through most of the circuit made it a bit quiet I thought.
I think you can get them from the few sellers there but they might be charging a premium. The start was very loud, but as the field spread out I didn't think it was too bad.
Certainly nowhere near the level of din that I witnessed there for F1 in 2001.

When we went to the WSR, we bought ear defenders beforehand. The kids just thought they were brilliant. I was really glad of them when the Red Bull F1 car was starting up and we were standing next to it!We just got our tickets through courtesy of a friend at Ford, looking forward to taking the little man to his first motorsport experience. I'd heard of some kids who get sensitive to it and just can't stand the noise so didn't want to take the chance. I'm also a bit sensitive to hearing as I damaged mine with too many loud gigs/clubs/headphones in my youth so want to protect the kids from it. These were the ones I got: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0086GATYM/ref=pe_38572...

What's wrong with WEC? They seem to attract some really horrific weather - Silverstone, Fuji, COTA... I'm surprised they haven't had rain/snow at Bahrain...
The year they held the race in August was quite pleasant as I remember but ever since it's been in the chilly spring time slot.Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
