Hadn't seen the disqualification!

The WEC app is superb, even if you don't get the full subscription. The live timing worked a treat, lots of information on it and there are tons of highlight videos on it too.

Just how loud are the Ford GTs though? At one point they were running together and the combined noise was so loud!

First race event, went for the 3 days and i found it very enjoyable. Nice ppl staff nice and alot of he drivers and mechanics etc where happy to have a chat.

Couldnt believe how small all the ex f1 drivers were, midgets!

Amazing how the top 3, more so the POrsche and Audi can speed out those corners. Makes the others look like 1.1 106's

btw mate had noise recorder thingy and when the Gts went past it said warning potential ear damage lol - I bought ear plugs so was ok wink

Agreed on that front, couldn't put my finger on it but it didn't sound great. Astons sounded particularly fruity though.

The WEC stand in the paddock were giving ear plugs away.

We spent some time in the grandstand at Farm and the speed the curves there just blew your mind as they went round the GT cars (or not, as in the Porsches case!)

Ford GT's are extremely loud, just not as nice as the Astons or Corvette

Ferrari 488's sound awful, thank god there's still one 458

I actually liked the sound of the Ford GT. Managed to get on the grid walk and have to say, up close it's a very good looking car!

Those 488 were so quiet compared to the 458. Almost considered they were broken

Shame Silverstone is a big naff for viewing live, they really need more TV screens around the circuit to see what's going on, only a few spots have that.
Certainly a few screens would help understand more about who's where but I took this from the grandstand at Becketts, from where you could also see the section from Farm down to the Wellington Straight, the exist from Copse, up through Maggots right through top Vale.

I also like the fact that I don't need VIP / Press / Paddock Club or any other premium upgrade / ticket to get shots like these:

Very Loud! I was stood in the G-Drive Jota Sport pit when they pitted together... My ears are still ringing and the floor shook as they exited their pit boxes...

We had a ride down to Luffield and Woodcote and the speed differential from the GTs to the prototypes was crazy!

Great day out. Got there for the Porsche race in the morning and then the pit walk before the race.

Hats off to Silverstone for this event, there is things to do for all the family, friendly staff, excellent access to see what goes on in the garages.

So for £20 me and my Daughter had a whole day out, which is amazing value for money. Looking forward to returning in 2017 thumbup

The buses were good too. We got on one intending on going 1 or two stops but the view from the top deck was so good that we stayed on board while we did just over a lap of the circuit!!

Was a great weekend again this year, first time being there in the snow though but it soon went and was a lovely day in the end. Definitely agree that it was much busier than previous years.

I had a great time. Keeping up with the race was the toughest part of the day.
I was fortunate enough to have been a VIP guest of Aston Martin Racing, so I must thank them for their hospitality.

For any multi-class race of any length you definitely need not only a radio but also a smartphone with a link to the live timing (the WEC app in this case).
