With a few Group C Porsche & Jags already posted, a shot of the engine might be useful

IanCress started it Sir! (I posted it after missing his posting of the same photo) Are they low profile? Look ok to me.

Why has this thread now been moved? Over moderation maybe? It was fine and doing no harm in GG.

Sadly yes - the originals had much bigger side walls. Perhaps they just aren't available anymore. Still a very sexy car though.

well if we are getting into Land Speed Record cars...

Whilst Thrust SSC went beautifully, it Mum wouldn't call it pretty.

It's more aerodynamically unstable rival* though, sure was a looker

  • The snappily named Spirit of America Formula Shell Land Speed Record Vehicle - but later renamed by the late Steve Fosset to the infinitely better 'Sonic Arrow'

I saw that race at Brands one year in the GP. Derek Warwick drove it I think. It looked stunning, especially against all the other GP cars which suddenly looked old fashioned - right up until the race started.

The commentator destroyed it by saying: Tomorrow's technology, unfortunately at some time in the future.
