The first couple of generations of Daytona Prototype were all pretty horrible, but the Picchio was definitely the worst.

They somehow manage to make ugly cars year in, year out.

Sad really as they usually provide some entertaining racing.

Those little six-wheel hill karts that go up Shelsey Walsh get on my nerves. Can't explain but I get annoyed watching them! Sure they're a blast to drive.
What this thing? It certainly fits well in this thread:

My son walked past it and laughed. Not seeing the owner sat in it at the time...

Ladies and gents, I give you Formula Student 2015... University of Delft, who won. On speed, not style, clearly.

Some munters on this thread, but these U.S Late Model dirt racer's are on another level of gopping.
It looks's like they've evolved to a point where someone's just given up on bothering about looks.

Bet they're a hoot to race though biggrin

E.T.A with a name like that, driver #44 probably doesn't worry about what his car look's like hehe.

The one with twin rear axles is called the Spectre and is made by a man called Karl Scholar - lovely man, and it's totally home made. He wanted something he could make from bits and run on his state pension.

Though i am being a bit disingenuous as it happens to be one of my favorites.
As is the Mannic Beattie, but she's no looker either.

I quite like this car as it shows light weight and low power can still be quick. OK it needed rule changes so it could race:

Stories of a LeMans 3D film being shot at the event last year, so the design might have something to do with that (Radio LeMans called it the Spec Savers car). It does look hideous though.

Now this is an ugly Daytona Prototype:

Land Speed Record cars are allowed in the other thread, so presumably so in this thread too.

I love the story of Art Arfons and his Green Monster, but it certainly isn't a looker!

Most time attack cars look a little silly, functional aero I guess but it's not pretty.

No one has mentioned this yet?! (The Chaparral 2J) - Love how you could actually drive it in Gt4 though - it is pretty ugly...a box and a Jet engine...or at least that is what it looks like.

Can imagine the handling not being the best by any stretch of the imagination haha

Not a jet engine - two rear facing outlets for the ski-mobile engined fans sucking the car onto the track - so the handling was probably quite good.

And it pre-dated the F1 Brabham fan car by around seven years.

Some will agree, some won't...

I can see your thinking, but in its defence:

1.) From the front, it's pretty much a 250 GTO. Nuff said.

2.) The noise. Oh, the noise....
