Land Speed Record cars are allowed in the other thread, so presumably so in this thread too.

I love the story of Art Arfons and his Green Monster, but it certainly isn't a looker!

I think the reason we (well certainly I) like the T5 is because there are so many images of it being driven at ridiculous angles by this man. Beautiful in a beastly way yes

i give you the Triplex Special

I love an 81 litre, tripple engined V36 as much as the next man. But the execution is pretty basic.

Especially for a car with the Stutz Black Hawk and Golden Arrow as contemporaries.

It looks like a Metro has mated with a supermarket trolley.
On the other hand it went like hell, infact it became too hot to handle.

In case you're wondering it's a 1971 Porsche Indy car!
That is not a Porsche and it's not from 1971. It's a 1981 Eagle Aircraft 'Flyer' and it had a Chevy engine. Apart from those minor points you're spot on with the details.

FWD with 1000+hp American WTC car.
Also this, but at least its AWD

Did either of those go near a wind tunnel? I'm no expert but I'd assume that most race teams don't go for a solution like that because it doesn't work.

Those are time attack cars with very different aero rules to basically everything else in motorsport. And they don't race wheel to wheel, so contact isn't an issue.
