I was in pits all day. Lovely bunch. They got me cycled round so I shadowed the exit gate post, the start guy, did a couple start grids and even the checkered flag, on top of doing typical pit grunt duties like cleaning up oil spills and waving cars through.
One car fire in the pit garages, three rolls on track and lots of other excitement made for a rather eventful day. I am very grateful that I brought a drinks bottle that fitted into a pocket and a change of shoes for the way home. Definitely remember some strong boots and gloves.
I am now sitting in my car, looking at the queue to get out of paddock three and waiting for the blood to return to my feet

How did it go Rick?
Hi,Have to say, really enjoyed it! From arriving at Donington and asking where to park, everybody was helpful. Signing on was easy and welcoming. The team I was with were excellent experienced Marshals. Got a proper briefing and opportunity to do a few different jobs during the day.
Got lots of good advice and my first signature.
I'll certainly be back to Donington and hopefully I'll have many more days like that.

Think I may have seen you lining up the cars on the grid on Saturday, looked like hard work!
I'm not a stalker (honest!), I was on post one, so opposite the pit lane at the fire point covering the race starts.
It was only my second time out but looking forward to plenty more events in 2017! As a motorsport fan and local to Donington I can't see a down side. Mixing with nice people, feeling like your helping out and plenty of racing to boot!
