Why did Welch get 3 drive through penalties?

One was a jump start and another was track limits, but I don't know about the third

Well, the penalty list is out, and nothing for Neal. I wonder if there's a degree of "don't mess with the championship" at play - shortest penalty list I've seen all year. Only Welch and Smith (apart from the MGs, obv):

If they officials won't give him the penalty he clearly deserves it would be nice if his fellow racers punted him off instead, teach him a lesson - was almost hoping Moffat might do that in race 3 when he was behind.

plus no easy access to the wing pits for the pitlane walkabouts, on the national there is a tunnel at copse, iirc the only access on the international is via a bridge on the hangar straight. there is plenty of paddock space if you use the stowe circuit like F1, dont forget F1 takes up more space than the btcc and supports with their "motorhomes" that are often 30 portakabins joined together. Dont even know where they would put a tunnel, would be a big and expensive one from vale or club
Pure & simple it is lack of paddock space (official Silverstone line). Don't forget for F1 weekends, the support series use the National pits and Support paddock space & drive round to the F1 pits for their qualifying/races etc.
Its the same reason for the WEC/ELMS race weekend, where ELMS have to use the National pits.
Plus the National circuit is marginally better than the International circuit . . . .

16 punctures in one weekend, I don't envy the job of the boys at Dunlop this week!

I was really surprised that there was no real discussion of that on ITV, especially given the near-panic after the problems at Thruxton.

Puncture from nowhere ruined Rob's second race. Third race one may have been not entirely unenforced though smile
The car was mega this weekend, Rob was absolutely up for it and has settled in it. We should have had three very strong results......but hey, that's racing!

As always with the BTCC had another great day out, only sad thing is its my last time seeing them in the flesh this year frown. The racing was in the main pritty good all day tho at times it was getting close to being a bit OTT with the contact.

Anyway heres my vid from the day:
