Why does Welch even bother?
Either in the bottom 20 or the gravel....

Guess I could say the same about Scott, fletcher etc.

Tense!! But I'd genuinely call that a champion's drive from Shedden. Tordoff - great year, but Shedden was far racier and more determined in the decider.

Exactly how many people do you have to hit on lap one for it to be a champions drive?

Great, tense final race - everything a touring car race should be. It's been a great season, and I'm glad the title went to someone who genuinely seems to care about winning it.

Was definately thinking "anyone but Neal" this morning, obviously glad he's not hurt but when you drive the way he does it's probably only a matter of time. Was willing Tordoff on in race 3 but in the end he just didn't look hungry enough.

It did seem like Tordoff didn't want to win.

As per the comments above, I got the feeling Sam just didn't want enough. He's driven well all year and perhaps his car was off the pace today, but you couldn't argue with Gordon's fighting spirit and ultimately I thought he really deserved the championship. The moves on Cook and Tordoff in Race 3 were sheer class.

Matt Neal....maybe karma caught up with him, but I'm really relieved he wasn't hurt.

I know BTCC gets some (deserved at times) stick for driving standards but I've really enjoyed this season, it's been full of drama and very entertaining. Roll on next year biggrin

Stunning drive by Sheddon, you can mix it anyway you want when your preferred drivers don't win, but as a normal fan who watches the races as a whole rather than as a rabid fan of one driver or team it was a great season.
Only slightly soiled by the rather unsavory "Subaru's are unfairly slow" comments from Potato.

Sheddon is a rather remarkable driver and I was hoping Tordoff could do it till i saw his background on the BTCC pre race show and how he is even racing (rich entitlement kid)........... JTC600 1 billion turnover, his Grandads company..

Glad Sheddon did it. Yeah i might sound bitter but there you.

Well since half the field....including Matt Neal are sons of rich daddies, I wouldn't hold that against tordoff....despite the money he's proved his worth this year

Only if your definition of stunning is using the car as a battering ram

My thoughts

- In partial defence of Tordoff and ignoring his strange interview the BMW has never done well at brands GP circuit, commentators mentioned that BMW have never won so was always facing an uphill battle. But all in all I don’t think he deserved it, after all he only won two races and it was all about consistency with a huge amount of non-podium finishes with most of these being much lower than 5th with his form pre Brands poor enough

- Shedden was the deserved winner of both the weekend and championship, while I’m not his biggest fan due to some of his pushing antics (from hanging around with Matt Neal too long) he was the hungriest driver and drove very clean at the weekend. His move on Tordoff was faultless, luring him into a false sense of security with an earlier dummy and then clean by. The fact that the Honda is either very quick or not quick at all depending on the track is testament to his driving skills that he was able to win the championship haven had to suffer some poor weekends

- It’s a real pity Subaru missed that weekend earlier in the year, if they had picked up a few points then Turkington would have had a better chance, once again he proved what a class act he is, I only remember him being involved in one inappropriate move all year, really stuck it to Plato, I have a feeling Plato may not want him there next year

- Matt Neal got his just rewards (glad he is not injured), even this weekend his driving was terrible, he even managed to break his front bumper camera at one stage with a big pointless lunge and caused that big crash which ruled Collard out of the championship (don’t think he would have won it anyway). Time for him to hang up his boots and let the well-funded team bring a real challenger to Shedden

- Dan Welsch is a complete joke, we may all laugh at Warren Scott in the gravel again but who put him there, Dan Welsch did! who then decided to join him in the gravel trap a few laps later and nearly cause the race to finish under a safety car. No doubt this joke of a driver will be out will his begging bowl in a few weeks looking for vulnerably sucker fans to fund yet another year of him continuously crashing his car into tyre walls and other competitors.

- Ollie Jackson, looked on the pace hovering around a top 10 all weekend, hopefully the damage isn't too bad and we will see him back out next year.

Looking forward to next year again, and fair play to ITV, not many free to air tv stations out there dedicating so much time to motorsport.

Why the Honda hate?, Neal yes but I've thought sheddons drove quite clean this year
Because he's been encouraging people off all year. He's happy to let Neal and plato take the dick dastardly role but he's just as bad. Jordan, Tordoff, Jackson all are considerably cleaner and depend more on racecraft than punting. Credit to sheddan for a clean drive in the last race to win it though.
