Josh Cook is in the Maximum Motorsport Focus after Stewart Lines sustained injuries in a biking accident in January.
Glad to see Josh has got himself a drive for this year, good young driver!
At least it's one more talented driver on the grid rather than an accident prone dousche.Glad to see Josh has got himself a drive for this year, good young driver!

He's a front running driver shame he has lost out and ended up in this car hopefully he can get back in a decent car soon.Glad to see Josh has got himself a drive for this year, good young driver!

Well, the Focus is a good starting point, and the team reckon they have improved it over the winter - I wouldn't be too surprised if he was able to haul it up into the top 15 or better. Some of the slower cars are more down to the driver than the car - remember the difference last year when Newsham drove Fletcher's car for a few races!Unveiling of the 2017 Team BMW livery at 2.30pm today, available online live here:

BTCC is into another golden era right now especially with increased manufacturer backing for the teams aswell. Massive grids, close racing and entertaining. Can't wait for media day.
I think the manufacturer input is simply gloss. The only works team is Honda. This despite the efforts of privateers building silhouettes in order to encourage more manufacturer backing. Not that it bothers me at all. Far better to see evenly matched cars of different appearance racing closely with each other.rubystone said:

Aslong as manufacturers throw money in then it counts, it's better than going back to a national series with £10million a year budgets and still has all the same intrigue action and variety.Honda and Subaru aren't doing a huge amount more than most though, they're throwing parts/shells and engines at Dynamics/BMR but the majority of the funding comes from sponsors. There's not a huge amount more that can be given to teams with the current regs and having to use spec parts.

I'm not a massive fan of the 3x20 min race format; but you can't deny that the BTCC is the model of how to run a national series. As a rallyfan, if only the BRC could be anything like that.....I have always enjoyed the slightly longer races of years gone by in the btcc. I think it discourages the first lap nonsense and a fresh set of boots throws a whole range of options in to the mix.
Two longer races per weekend and maybe even a Saturday sprint race mixed in to Sunday qualifying for race 2 would be good.
