Turks, Collard and Jordan would be my dream team.
If Turks leaves BMR it's because of a prima donna calling the shots and refusing to work with him in 2017.I hope he doesn't jump out of the frying pan into another team with (now) another prima donna whose 2016 team didn't want to work with him in 2017.

As for turks have to wait and see on that but as turks doesn't bring much in terms of money then ofcourse plato will be calling the shots as he along with his engineer are the main reason Subaru are in the btcc atm.

Tordoff confirms BTCC departure.
Thats a shame , he's been a breath of fresh air this season and has some solid race craft too.sadly we will now have to do with the inane posturing from shedden , neal and plato and stock car racing moves will no doubt be acceptable once again......

Just heard that Vauxhall are coming back, possibly with Power Maxed Racing.
I've just heard this from someone in the know too, Chevy's are both sold, not sure where they've gone to but the TBLs have gone with them, PMR have the 2 'manufacturer' TBLs to run the new Astras.rubystone said:
Does anyone know how much real investment manufacturers actually make in BTCC?
In the case of Honda it's a good couple of million to run the team, test, supply and build the cars etc but part of that is covered with sponsorship. Subaru should be similar, BMW supply parts and some backing but as WSR run the TOCA lump there won't be a massive cash injection and likewise with MG, I'd imagine the Vauxhall deal is similar to the latter two.DanielSan said:

Your figures are somewhat out there - and the BMW doesn't run the TOCA engine, it's a Neil Brown-developed BMW unitTo build the 3 Civic's is around half a million each when you include man hours, engines etc. Add in tyres, damage, testing etc etc and there's a not inconsiderable investment. Andy Neate's deal at 650k last year didn't include damage or much testing that was all extra. Building 4 cars and developing a whole new engine isn't going to be cheap for Subaru either...
When even a seat in a half decent car for a season is over 300k plus tyres damage and testing, NGTC isn't the cost cutting formula it was claimed it was going to be.

300k to do 30 races in the biggest championship in the U.K (and thirty races in a season is a lot of races!) and one of the top touring car championships in the world with massive profile, huge tv and spectators numbers is a bargain when compared to other series like British GT etc. . why else do you think they'v got record grid numbers in BTCC if it wasn't great value?Edited by knowitall on Wednesday 23 November 22:50

Where do you get your figures from, and please don't give the usual PH answer of "I know a guy but I can't say more"? Honda wouldn't make much out of a £650k deal if the car cost £500k, providing just a couple of mechanics plus transport for ten weekends a year isn't cheap. When even a seat in a half decent car for a season is over 300k plus tyres damage and testing, NGTC isn't the cost cutting formula it was claimed it was going to be.
