Car looks lovely, really like the new colourscheme...I see the PMR astra tested at donington this week too..whilst others were in Spain and Portugal... BIG shunt looking at the damage on the car from Matt Simpson,,glad he's ok!

Warren Scott officially not driving the Subaru this year then, he's off to British Rallycross.

Obviously been using BTCC weekends as practise for that.

I believe one website (BTCC Crazy) named the final BMR driver in their article about Warren Scott moving to rallycross; they then amended the article quickly afterwards to remove any mention of the other driver. Either a news embargo they broke and then recanted, or someone was having a laugh and published it by mistake.

I hope it was the latter, because the name was Mark Howard.

Before anyone jumps on me, please let me re-iterate - this is just what I've read, and I hope it is just an unsubstantiated rumour! But this thread is called "Silly Season..."

Worryingly I've seen that name mentioned a few times now, that will be the biggest waste of a seat going this side of Dan Welch being there.

As far as I'm aware Hunter Abbot has the last Subaru seat. It'll run a different livery to the others using his companies logos etc.

That wouldn't be a bad option in theory, hopefully a car with some development budget behind it might give him a better showing than the Audi.

Fingers crossed - that would be a far better option! Certainly brings a good amount of RWD experience.

Anybody going to media day this year?

http://www.donington-park.co.uk/events/2017-calend...

Haven't been since it moved from Silverstone but it's the missus birthday and she suggested it!

I'm going Thursday, cars are on track from 12:30, wouldn't worry about not being there on time, the queue disappears as soon as the gates open, it's a longer wait if you're there before then.

The museum is really good. Some cool German military stuff in there aswell as the old race cars. Not difficult to kill a good couple of hours just reading about everything.

Testing starts at 1:00pm so if you get in quick (from 12:30pm), you can get some autographs, etc, from the drivers.

Good day today, quite a few cars were certainly looking impressive. The BMW's al look stunning, the Astra looks a bit crap but it did look pretty quick with Chilton behind the wheel.

Totally agree mate, though I personally think that the big hitters were sandbagging quite a bit!! Austin looked mighty through the old hairpin though!! I couldnt make a decision on the best looking livery if you paid me,,,,,they all look bloody brilliant!

What a fiasco though with entry!! we parked up at about 11.20 (coffee and chat at services from 10.30) and were in the queue for 11.30 ...around 15 people in front of us and a massive crowd forming behind, to be told around 11.50... 'sorry guys...you're queueing in the wrong place.....we didnt think you'd be here this early....you need to get in your cars..move them and go round to another gate and start queueing again'

It didnt upset the day that much but felt piss poor at the time....imagine that on race day!! Turns out the paddock is being re tarmacced so no one could walk in the usual way and we had to park where the sunday market usually is. But comeon donington decision makers!!! you KNOW BTCC draws a big crowd,,,you KNEW we'd all be there early...as we are every year!! some forward planning would have been better,,,,maybe some signage??? the guy letting cars in/turning them away from the paddock entry clearly seen there was a queue building......and the guy on the gate told us ALL to park on the grass 'to the right' as we entered...not head to the left and round to the old sunday market site......its not like the tarmac work started as we got there....

Surely someone thought... 'media day..hmmm punters walking in at gate 'X' where we are working' ffs
