Is anyone watching the formula E?
Discussion
Its needed and the cars are know starting to evolve with the battery technology and the length of time they can be used, they say within the next 2 years they be able to do a full length without the need to swap cars.
From what I could see its way more fan friendly at most tracks with more things to do and what I thought was good is a chance to race on the sims with formula e drivers.
Hopefully when they manufacturs join on mass they start to use proper tracks.

With regards to the circuits, they have taken the 'if we can't get the people to the race, we'll take the race to the people' and having city centre events on temporary circuits with a festival atmosphere. However, temporary circuits will mostly mean concrete walls and catch fencing.
A brave move, and as they embark on season 3 they're still going, and that is without support races to share some costs and bring in more people.
The crucial thing is to have a car that can last a whole race, otherwise it just highlights out the problems with battery powered cars - their range.
I know a number of drivers are their not through their own choice but because those that back them or support them are asking them to be there, and it would be detrimental to their motorsport careers to overrule them.
I'm puzzled by the Roborace concept unless they can corner or travel at speeds the human body can't withstand, or they are introducing weapons to the series.

I was pleasantly surprised by the race in Mexico at the weekend, I think the circuit is a big improvement over the car parks which have hosted the other FE races I've watched.
Im watching it as i type this.Pretty good racing, bit of drama here and there. Quite enjoyable.
