Good news as it will give good investment to the track and improve facilities there like MSV have at many other venues.

However, the thought of it turning into another copy/paste MSV branded circuit is quite disappointing. I liked that Donington had it's own unique character compared to some other circuits. MSV painting everything red and black won't help that diversity. frown

Donington of late has been defined by seas of mud and godawful facilities - a pale shadow of its glorious relaunch in the late 70s - trees hacked down , spectator areas moved further and further from track . JP has transformed both Cadwell and Oulton - both better than any time in my 40 years attendance . Be good if JP can also get rid of all the bloody Nazi memorobilia in the museum - but I assume Kevin will be keeping that.

Croft next ? Certainly room for improvement there, starting with the godawful food and the amount of unpicked litter ...

I've always liked how Donington is a bit sparse on facilities, just sitting on the grass bank rather than concrete or a grandstand.

Its not just the paddock, they've started doing part of the circuit as well http://www.thomasbow.com/returning-to-donington-pa...

I lived in Northamptonshire in the 70s and 80s so getting to Donington was a easy run up the M1. First visit was in 73 or so, loved the museum, loved the clubby feel of the paddock and the pub. Went to the Gunnar Nilsson event but have not been for years as I'm now in Dorset.

Am very pleased with JP doing what he has done with the circuits so far because in the mid 80s I worked very close to John Foulston and regretted how things spiralled downwards with the daughter in charge.

It would be good if some of the old feel can remain, I know change is happening everywhere, but I'd love it to feel good if Tom was to walk back in and say that's it all in the right direction.
