Baseball stadium is just too small. They should have gone to the Dolphins stadium.

I agree. The Olympic stadium was similar last year.
I think they desperately need a high up camera so you can see both cars going round. You'd think given the diminutive track that this would be possible.

NFL is currently in the playoffs - organisers & dolphins couldn't be sure the Dolphins would have been knocked out by now (ha!) so might have needed the stadium for a home match.

Going back to that Polaris thingie, just looked at the spec. As long as the average small hatchback, six inches wider than a Range Rover (!) and powered by an out-of the-crate 2.3L 4 pot GM car engine.

Am I missing the plot - aren't sporting 3 wheelers meant to be nimble, compact and bike engined ?? What is the purpose in life of this tripod other than for throwing into a wall. ??

Nah. Paris was great fun and easily do-able via Eurostar. Seeing Schumahcer on the streets in his F1 car and Sainz (snr) in his rally carthe next day was an added bonus

Yep agree, the Stade de France was a brilliant venue, proper circuit and plenty of space. Not to mention 15 mins RER ride to all that Paris offers.

Added bonuses eg when they decided to display a jet powered dragster in the Stadium - goodbye various advertising signs and a few marshals - only the French..

The problem with most European venues was European winters. London was chilly last year.

American venues would work well with exposing "International" racers to the US, it's hard for them to get a look in with the local racing dominating the media.

A baseball stadium is larger than a football one so we could have a more adventurous layout. A few years in Miami and crowds would pick up.

I've got a great idea, move it to the UK mid-summer and make it outdoors. Choose a circuit about a mile long in a natural bowl so the cars can really get a move on, get rid of the barriers so the racing is real and the cars are visibly racing against one another. Get rid of all of the toy cars and restrict the event to 4 WD cars with 600 bhp or so. All we need then is a proper commentator rather than some excitable shambolic Northener - so welcome back Murray Walker.

The Race of Champions title could revert to a non championship F1 race at Brands Hatch, maybe hold that on Boxing Day to liven things up a bit especially when it comes to tyre choice, maybe allow a few F5000 cars in to boost the field. Then our main event would take place at Lydden Hill in July - it just needs a new name so perhaps a cross between rallying and autocross - how about "Rallycross" ?

The Race of Champions - for the Henri Toivonen trophy...

How many active rally drivers participated?

It's a poor reincarnation of what was a great, fun event in the Canary Islands....
