Having a look at the odds the bookies are offering on this seasons F1, some of the prices suggest that the bookies are expecting dramatic changes in form for some teams and drivers - for instance, Force India massively out scored Renault last season, but the bookies reckon Renault are 6 times more likely to win the championship this year. McLaren at 14/1, yet Williams who scored almost double the points last year at 300/1.

Similarly, Alonso and Vettel the same odds, last season Vettel out scored Alonso by a ratio of 4:1.

While I agree that the odds are all over the shop, they are only a reflection of where punters' money is going. The bookies don't take a view on the likelihood of a particular scenario playing out.

The WCC is Merc, at a push Red Bull if you were being hopeful. The rest is just silly to bother putting any money anywhere near them. And Lewis is already the 2017 WDC. Fact. And i'm happy to have this thrown back in my face, because it won't be.
The fun will be watching Bottas suddenly the 2nd best driver on the grid and just watching Max and Dan chuck the Red Bull around.

I would suggest the Williams odds are largely down people's perception of the driver pairing, not the car.

Equally I'd argue that Ferrari are sliding backwards while McLaren are inching forwards, hence people expecting Vettel and Alonso to meet in the middle.

At those odds, Bottas at 4:1 and Kimi at 50:1 must be worth a punt.

Kimi 50/1? (Scurries off for a closer look)

When he was in a Williams. Stick £20 on Bottas maybe, but if you were aiming for a big payday that's a massive risk. I have a little bit more respect for Lewis than to think Bottas is anywhere near his league. But Bottas will be 2nd for sure.

I put it EW the day after Rosberg retired thinking he might get 2nd or 3rd not expecting him to beat Lewis.
