Sprinting requires loads of equipment which can get quite expensive.

I would start with autosolos as explained above, then do a Targa rally which is still only about £50 entry and gets you 8 or so stages and is loads of fun. These can all be done in a standard road car

Chelmsford motor club have a good website as do many other clubs. Search for motorsport clubs near you and you'll find loads of helpful people

That would be my recommendation too. It will depend where you live, how far you want to travel, what sort of car you are using and if you are prepared to risk some damage. But there are hundreds of auto tests, auto solos, Targa Rallies and Road RAllies which you can enter once you have opened yourself up to the world of Club Motorsport. Non of the above need a fully prepared car, but there are limits on the type of car allowed. Plus it has to be said it can knock hell out of them if you get serious, so eventually more and more prep becomes desirable. At top level it's serious competition with national championships, but easily accessible as a novice.

First thing is to go on to the MSA website and look for you local motor club then find their website and see what they offer. Not all clubs run the type of event described, but those that do will welcome newcomers with open arms.

If the OP wants competition for 'under £100' then I'd be looking at Autosolo (~£30 odd and no special equipment required) or push the budget and go Sprinting (but that'll require a minimum expenditure of ~£500 for helmet, gloves, overalls and then entry fees on top I.e. Way over the initial budget).

You might get a cheap track day under £100 at somewhere like Llandow, but that's not racing.

Who are you all trying to fool? There is no way you can do a track day, let alone any form of racing, for less than £100 a day. You'll spend that on fuel alone.

In all honesty, if that's your budget you really need to forget the idea.

Think the OP has realised racing is not realistic for that budget. That's not to say other forms of motorsport are quite easily accessible for a budget of £100.00 an event. So nobodies is trying to fool anybody. The guy has had some good advice and wouldn't need somebody to piss on his chips.

Well said. Had a lot of fun at Autosolos, and including entry and petrol even including to get to the event they're a lot less than £100 - more like £40 all in.

Can you please suggest some clubs as an example? Will an ordinary car club for a specific car do these? Thanks
Not if I don't know where you live!
And anyway, I may not know your area - you do need to do some homework yourself!

But the MSA is your friend: https://www.msauk.org/Clubs/Find-Clubs

Enter your town, or look on the map, read the entry about the club, or contact the officials.
Good luck!

You guys are far more tolerant than I would've been with the OP - Google works wonders!

RAF Marham do one for £80 for a full day or £130 for two full days every 6 months or so. Next one is on the 22nd of April, you can't buy more track day time for the money. That's a full 8hrs per day with an open pit lane. I'm booked already.

As others have said join a club and members will guide you ,most clubs have a competition Secretary who will have all the contacts and info you need .
Club events tend to fall into two categories, basically open and restricted .
Open will be for anybody who is a member of any club with the correct licences and spec of car .
Restricted events which are restricted to members of the organizing club or invited clubs ..
You have to be a member of an affiliated club .

If you are anywhere near Castle Combe then they offer track sessions at most of their shows - Actions Days, Rally Day, Japfest etc etc

Could probably get 3-4 of them for £100 will give you about 45 mins-1hr of playing which will be plenty for your daily car to put up with.

But again thats not "racing"
