Notwithstanding all the Team Hard rumours (!), good news today with the Pre-'66 Classic Touring Cars supporting at Croft next year:

https://www.btcc.net/2023/11/30/classic-touring-ca...

Plus a lot of things to be announced before Christmas I think.

I hope the pre 66 stuff gets on more often as it’s always a good watch.

It would be great if they could include some of the type of races we get to see from Goodwood revival, historic saloon invitation races at the BTCc

Potential trouble for those using the Swindon engine:
https://www.wiltshire999s.co.uk/police-firefighter...

“Firefighters are battling a blaze involving an industrial unit in Swindon this afternoon (Friday).

Police have closed Kelvin Road, off Greenbridge Road, as fire crews work at the incident.

The fire is believed to involve the Swindon Powertrain building in Crampton Road, but this has not yet been confirmed.”

hmmmm, you might be right, he seems to be posting bits about historics and all sorts of older stuff on his FB page.

why would you say he's retiring? Only if BMW are withdrawing and I haven't heard anything on that front. Not sure if Turkers is one of the only , if not the only driver in the BTCC with a wage from an actual manufacturer - i.e he's a contracted driver to BMW, although it might be a contracted driver for WSR who are paid by BMW.

The classic race car stuff is just some one giving him a go in something interesting at interesting tracks. He might even be paid for it, or just want's to tick off racing an E30 or at Spa.
He's also got a couple of sons racing who are going to need some finance.

Unless of course he's paying for his BMW ride, and he needs to divert some funds for his kids.

I guess we'll find out.

Is it the same team that were/are running in TCR UK?

https://www.restartracing.co.uk/

Apparently they will announce something at midday according to a comment on Facebook.

I’m guessing Chris Smiley will be heading back to BTCC.

Ah, that. That has been going around for years, probably not helped by the... errr... shady... accounts.

You obviously know a lot about it? Care to share?

Although, maybe you don't, as Team Hardship went bust weeks ago, and you asked: "What are the Team Hard rumours?"

confused
