I want to, but no idea what channels it is on. A friend runs vendetta racing who have entered 3 bikes and I can only see what they’re up to briefly via instagram

it is now pretty much a Red Bull event so mush of the footage is on their channel, it used to be updated by them on Eurosport every night too.

I am trying to avoid it as it is Saudi sportwashing again

It's on YouTube. You couldn't make it up really - here was an event which went from Paris to Dakar , in Senegal , before it got too dangerous - Islamic militants and similar unpleasantness .

But because it is (cringe) a bloody brand (like everything else ) they kept the name and first moved it to Chile and Argentina before the Saudis nabbed it . So now you a have bunch of Tonka toy vehicles spoiling a nice empty piece of desert to enable Saudi to sportswash and Audi PR folk to witter on about sustainability .

Coming soon - Les Vingt Quatre Heures du Mans , hosted by your own , your very own Kazakhstan?

Not sure where it is really matters, its still a very hard race to even finish let alone win.

There is, of course, the 'Africa Eco Race' taking place concurrently that actually goes from France to Dakar.

Eco ? A cynic might think use of the term is as cynical as it is in the driving mode choice of my Hyundai .

Still very hard.

It has lost a bit of the magic (I feel) from when it was Africa based.

Too be fair, the scenery and terrain they have had to cover this year has been very impressive.

The close final day battle has been denied with some tough luck for Loab.

Fair play to Audi. They’ve persisted with the concept when past years haven’t been good. I’m picturing close support formation flying on the final day from the other Audis, ready to sacrifice wheels and parts to get Sainz to the finish without delay.

It would be far better if it was a Red Bull event; as it is, it's an ASO event, and we know how tight they are with money.........
