I want to know where Renault get this "long fuel" they supposedly put in Alonso's car.

You would have thought the FIA would have stopped them having an unfair advantage like that...

it wouldn't be from the ELF then as they tend to be short

That joke is so dreadful that I only wish I'd thought of it.
A beauty.

It's a bit like that Lo Salt they sell.

I buy regular salt, it's nearly the same height but much cheaper.

Neil Crompton again...
As they refuelled Schumacher with 18 laps to go:
"watch how long they fuel him for - YES they have short fuelled him to give him track position over Kimi" (or similar words)

So, you think he is stopping again then??

Only thing worse than a tt is an Aussie tt.

I have found a solution to the James Allen situation.

I watch the pictures, turn the sound down ,and have the FIA Live Timing up on my pooter.

I can see who's doing what and where, sector times, etc...

Regarding the G-forces, with a F1 car, they are sudden, and it's all about accelleration in a given plane, in this case, lateral. They're turning into Copse at about 180, and for about 1-2 seconds they pull over 5G, with your aeroplane doing a 300ft loop, it's all very steady in comparison. If you were to do it at a higher speed, and the same diameter loop, you'd feel more G.

Does anyone remember any of the Murray vs James (Hunt) phrases that run on-par with James Allen. In the turbo era, I remember James jumping up and down when anyone's car started to smoke badly "Yes, there goes his turbo, yes his turbo's gone", and one day he managed to come out with that phrase when the car was one of the few 3L naturally aspirated versions, and Murray corrected him... "James, that's the 3L class leader...."

Ah but the difference is that James Hunt was an eccentric genious, whereas James Allen is, well, a cock.

He said that they pull 4.5 G lateral, that has got to be bullshit, I've pulled 4G doing a loop at 300mph, does an F1 car go that fast?

Nope but the radius of the turn is tighter.

Surely we can invent a language of our own, where "James Allen" is actually our phrase for "please punch me repeatedly in the face with a hammer".

Then the chance to actually be introduced to the fellow would bring amusing consequences.

And just for those who understand physics, he made the statement today during the quali telecast (yes a day late here ) that the temp yesterday was DOUBLE the temp during testing in April. So if yesterday was 27deg C, testing was at -123deg C was it Neil?
sorry, one of my MANY pet hates, 27C is NOT twice the temp of 13.5deg C, in fact it is only approx 4% higher
Go on then please explain... it's an increase of 13.5deg so that's 4% of what? Rich...

Presume he'd referring to the absolute temperature scale, Kelvin.

OK, bit pedantic though...

Absolute temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin, and is the only scale where 'doubling' the temp can mean anything. Absolute zero is approx -273 deg C.
13.5 deg C is ~286.5 K, 27 deg C is ~300K.

Nope, pedantic would be saying absolute zero in -273.16 deg. Centigrade.
