He uses the rear brake most other riders don't. Also "Elias Corner" where he did Colin Edwards a couple of times is a newly profiled and tarmaced part of the circuit, it used to be a double apex corner, now it's a harder stop that opens out. Maybe everyone had been riding it one way and Elias had found a better line and more grip doing it his way, finding that if you run deep and wide you still get the grip to exit normally.

Under the brakes Elias was awesome. Not sure what was happening by letting Rossi through earlier though - do you think he realised his tyres would be shot but felt that he could take him later?
By jumping between BBC2 and Eurosport coverage I think from interviews and chats he did that because he made a mistake on the right hander before, got off line and would have had to drop it right across Rossi to take the apex at the next left hander so he waved Rossi through so they both knew where they'd be on track without an incident. Considering and remembering he took Rossi out at the first race of the year he was probably being extra careful not to take the Championship contender out, especially as he's looking for a ride next year and could be Yamaha bound. I suppose he also thought he had enough laps left to catch back up, which he did........just
Week in Week out, the best racing on the planet, ever IMHO.
Wonderfully Eurosport (are they the best commentating team of the lot?) dubbed stress-o-meter, when Rossi and one or two others get on the ragged edge, the gearshift boot does some trail braking into the corners! Fantastic.
Well my money was on the american; how could I have doubted Rossi?

Is he riding for Yamaha next year?
He has no ride as of yet, but he's most likely to be on a Honda or a Yamaha next year. Until the race win a likely berth would have been the 2nd string Tech 3 Yamaha's as it's unlikely that Checa or Ellison are both going to be riding for them next year. But a win is a win, he might find a little present from Honda under his Christmas tree.
The other empty seats still to be filled are at Kawasaki, possibly the 2nd works Ducati and the D'Antin Ducatis. Not counting the seat he is vacating at Gresini, but maybe they will keep him now?

Biaggi is signed and sealed with Alstare Corona Suzuki in the World Superbikes, replacing Troy Corser who's going to Yahama Italia to join Haga.
