This hasn't been "Gascoyned" - he's had nothing to do with, but is intending a b-spec mid season.

No- the point was that this is his strategy every time. You end up with a slow car at the start. A dog slow car in the middle and a not-quite-so-slow doggish car at the end of the season. Whilst all the other teams keep adding little bits at a time and remaining competitive.

Goscoyne always bleats on about 'building infrastructure' in the design team, then conveniently excuses his car for being sh*t by saying the B spec later in the season will be better.

And then leaves before being removed as it's not much better.

whilst I'm not a Gascoyne fan, to be fair to him, he was scuppered at Toyota when those interfering boys from head office forced him to shift to Bridgestones....and his B spec car did work a lot better when it was rolled out....they are still interfering now and that's why the team is going nowhere fast

I think your all being a little hard on the bloke. I personally think he knows how to run a drawing office, and does get the best out of the people there. Jordan had the best year in 99 with him running the show.
Trying to add small developments to a car that isn't the best to start with, means the new parts are always going to be compromised. I would guess the car is down on Aero compared to the rest of the 2007 grid already, so focusing on larger developments is the only way there going to see any kind of significant improvements. I'm sure the car will still have small improvements made to throughout the season.

I was at the Silverstone test they were doing on Monday and, although it looks very cool, a chap I know at Crash.net was telling me that you can't see the sponsors in their tracking shots and it is hard to pick them out from the wall.

It was also pretty slow: running about a 1'26" and below according to my Nokia Chronograph

There did seem to be an awful lot of TC going on, though.

To be fair according to the reports it was verging on freezing and they had to wait until 11am to run because of the fear of ice on the circuit, so it's little wonder there was bu**er all grip available!

Seems they lost one car yesterday in a pretty big shunt. The Autosport report said it was a minor off, but a friend who saw it coming back on a flat bed said it didn't appear to have any wheels left...

Losing wheels isn't much, if the tub's still straight.

That's ok, it's Gascoyne's Spec B.

Of course. But when a race driver tells you it looked like a bomb had gone off you know it wasn't a 'light brush against the barriers'.

True, but bathtubs are ridicously flimsy. Tin-toppers never come terms with ho easy it is to snap bits off of one.

They had to rush something out, the team was only sold in September, engine deal done shortly afterwards, before that it was in a constant state of flux whilst Alex Schnaider tried to work out if he liked F1 or not.

No surprise really, hopefully B-spec car will show some promise but how much money do they have to invest?
