Anyone who truly considers themselves a race fan turned it off about 5 years ago.

If youre chess playing master strategist maybe. Or if you have an interest simply because of the technological showcase that is now the only exciting part of it.

Id love some figures on how many NEW fans are drawn to F1 each year. Seriously, what is there to captivate a young bloke now? And dont call yourself a racefan and say "The Glamour" cause thats not racing.

The only fans left are still there because of sentimental value (they cant face turnig it off after following it for so long) and people who go and watch because it fits their jetset persona.

Im as upset about it as anyone but Im not going to sit and pretend its still worth the steam off my piss just cause I feel bad about what its become. Even if I wanted to support it, I couldnt afford to go to a race. And why would I? MOTOGP is 10 times the entertainment for a fraction of the cost.

I will be there in front of the telly for the first couple of races, hoping against hope that something will ignite the series and convince me to watch the rest. But theres only so many years Ill keep up this vigil.

I like F1: I like the technology, I like the strategy but, most of all, I like anything that's quick enough to do something stupid in. F1 falls into this catergory.

Anyway, here's my prediction - I think the season will end with one of these two results:

Kimi
Alonso
Hamilton
Massa
Button

Alonso
Kimi
Massa
Hamilton
Button

Massa I think might just win by default.

I have the impression that Kimi is too much of a car breaker for his own good and that his relationship with the team isn't going to win him many friends. Aloof can be cool, it can also be arrogant little pr1k.

'If' Maclaren can get the cars to the end of the races I think that Alonso and Hamilton will get up in the top 4. In which order I'm not sure though as I honestly have very high hopes of Hamilton.

As for the rest. Kovi and Fisi will win a race for Renault but that will be about it. BMW may get a snif and will hover about to pick up plenty of podiums when the top boys drop one.

Fisi flattered Alonso quite a bit the last couple of years, so Hamilton is going to give him alot to think about and probably beat him like Trulli did when they were team mates, Fisi wont be very appy when Kovaleinen thrashes him every race and Kimi will edge ahead of massa with a bit of help from ferrari, they won't want the big money man finishing behind the cut price stand-in tester, my guess is,

Hamilton
Raikkonen
Alonso
Massa
Kovaleinen

A lot of talking from the arse on here.....

1. Kimi will be WDC
2. Over 1 Billion people will tune into Sunday's race

F1 boring?..... not if your a true motorsport fan! and anyhow watching on the TV is nothing like seeing/hearing these machines at the track! buy some tickets! watch it then come back and say it's boring....

Even better try driving one ;-)

Actually having done both I think watching it on TV is much better. At the track the first few cars you see speed past is good but the other 70 laps just leave you feeling dizzy. And I count myself as a true motorsport fan but would still say it is boring. Having said that I do find the prospect that one day there will be a good race quite exciting so still watch it - my prediction for this season is Massa, Alonso will give him a hard time though. Kimi is too........rubbish

I have placed the following bet for Australia:

Pole position: Massa
Race win: Massa
To finish in points: Sato (at 16/1 I think it isnt a bad bet!)

I am sure your all suprised about me betting on Sato to come in the top eight but if you remember he did finish 10th in Brazil last year and following Super Aguri inheriting Honda's car and sorting out reliability at 16/1 I quite fancy that!

As for the rest of the season I think Ferrari will pretty much clean it, what with their Bridgestone experience and keeping Massa they will be unstoppable!

I think ferrari will have some pit work balls-ups without Ross keeping an eye on them.

So are Williams and Spyker really that worried by Torro Rosso and Super Aguri to protest this year. My how the mighty have fallen, well in the case of Wiliams anyway, lol
I'm sure in seasons gone by they're main concern was the pace of Ferrari and McLaren. But I could be wrong, lol.
