Have you got that in high-res? I quite fancy that as a desktop image!

Not really, the original is about 900 wide, so not dekstop size. I got it off a thread on PH years ago, tis a 993 of some sort, i have some recollection of it being japanese.

That's just the best! You'd never bother overtaking that would you, just delight in the show...What a pity the MC12 isn't allowed at Le Mans.

It's amazing how much delight flames bring! I thought I was the only one who enjoyed it! On general test days I like to see who can produce the biggest flame from entry to apex!

Its criminal that its not allowed to enter Le Mans, IMO its the best looking GT1 Car, I would have said the DBR9 but I ve never seen a flame from one yet!

The problems now are that the ECU's can control the fuelling too well - and dumping it out of the exhaust to burn isn't the best from a fuel consumption point of view!

When the Porsche GT1 first arrived I think it raced in the BPR series race at Brands and the flames were simply crazy - I think they sorted the mapping after that..

The best one I have EVER seen is Stefan Johansson in qualifying at Monaco in a turbo F1 Ferrari, it would have been around 1986/87. The guy got the picture from about 15 feet away from the car, I think he was exiting Casino square at the time.

It is awesome.

The snapper was German, IIRC, something like Ranler Schlegeler (apologies if I've got that completely wrong)

Ah there she is! Basically as I understand it the ACO is still annoyed at Maserati's behaviour some years ago when they launched the competition MC12 which was not legal for the LM-rules?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
