Anybody got some initial thoughts about this weekend?

Having seen the entry list, www.eerc.co.uk/cms/e107_files/afm/Silverstone%20Entries%20as%20at%20140307.xls

I think the Eurotech entry is probably the one to beat in GT3.

Take your pick out of GT Cup?

Class 1, can't see any one touching Paul White & Calum in car no. 44. They will probably be upsetting some of the GT Cup cars as well!

If that's the case won't they be put into the GT cup class based on the regs, power to weight and all that, coming out at roughly 243bhp/ton as far as I can make out for Class 1

I was basing my comments on Calum's race craft. At the start of the 24hr race last year, in the same car, he stood out for me, especially through Becketts and Abbey!eek

Promoting the car up a class because someones race craft is better than someone elses, in what should be a faster car on paper, goes against the fundermentals of the sport doesn't it?

I will be racing in the support race (Alfa Romeo Championship)White alfa 33 (Class D, number 9)
Should be a good day.
Look out for our RX7 in the Britcar race, it is it's competitive debut - you won't miss the colour scheme, trust me!

yes I agree with you Dancin, driver skill should not be part of the equation, on bhp/ton matters for regs

I'll try and get some shots of both of them then. I might come and say hello if I can work out who you are!

I spoke to Race technology yesterday and I believe they are there tomorrow, but unless James has the correct drag coefficients for each car listed, and he uses them, the readings will NOT be accurate. Nothing has also been mentioned about the anti vibration mounts that the machines should be fitted to.

Are these powerloggers the DL1 unit?
How much are they charging to purchase them?
I aleady have one but if the price is discounted I'd get a second unit for my M3.

I shall be there in the ISL Marcos. We are on the money in GT Cup with BHP/Weight ; but I know some others are way above.

Should be very interesting to see what happens...

hi, i've only recently discovered britcar (just being the 24 hour last year but coundn't go due to a car accident) anyway I would like to go to silverstone this weekend but i've read on ten tenths that the event will be held behind closed doors dues to it being the first raced organised under their new addmistration or something? I would really like to go can anyone shed a little light on the subject.

(btw i'm going to call silverstone tomorrow)

eek That's the first I've heard of it! Let me know what you find out. Failing that any Ph'ers racing want to get me in. I can pay you back with photos of you in action on the track!

EDIT: I've made some enquires with the organisers, I'll let you know what I find out.

Its certainly note closed and you will be more than welcome to keep the other spectator and his flask happy. Take a wonder into the pits, the garages are quite open to browsing.
