It was a tough day for photography, being overcast, foggy, rainy and just generally bloody freezing

d_drinks, I should have some more of those cars, give me some time to have a look.

An Excellent day, despite being cold and wet! (Even my face had gone numb!) Very pleased for Dom Evan's (Taffy racer) (3rd and 2nd overall and in class.) and Fiona Leggate (2 1st in class, 8th and 6th overall). I lost track of where the other PH'ers finsihed I'll have to go and check the results! I'll post some photos when I've had a chance to sort and upload them. (Hopefully later on this afternoon!)

I don't suppose anyone got a picture of Alfa Romeo number 9 in the ARCA race did they?
I won my class by something like 8 seconds and was 5th overall from 30 entrants but was excluded after an official protest from another driver for overtaking under yellows (which i didn't see, I was alongside him so he blocked the view to the marshalls post).

I've got some, I'll upload them today. I did think I had an excellent one of you sideways as well, but sadly it didn't come out.

Hi Marc, cheers, was not an ok start considering we decided to do it all last minute and most of the upgrades were not on the car and was on old 17's that has already done 90 mins in the Birkett! Be really keen to see those pics

Is it OK to post photos in here or should we have a new thread?

go for it onthe photo front esp if you have some of the 24 and 26 Marcos' !!

I didn't get as many pics as usual and only shot from one position. This is because I have realised that I was concentrating on the photography so much that I didn't have time to enjoy the cars and the racing, which is the priority for me. Therefore I only got one decent shot of car number 26. Sorry Darren, I will get a lot more next time out, Ray.

The black Fezza was on fire all the way down the pit straight, my driver came on the radio to point out being right behind it was the warmest he'd been all weekend!! glad that the marshalls got the fire out with no damage to the driver......
Cheers
Darren

If it was on fire all the way down the pit straight that means the driver completed about 75% of a lap before he pulled off the track! When he first stopped in front of me I had to jump into my car for cover from the huge amount of smoke that the wind was kindly blowing straight at me!

Nice crisp shot Ray. That new lens is working well for you?
Wish it had stayed that bright all day!

Thanks mate. Yours are pretty damn good as well. Particularly like the panning shot of the E30 M3 and the shot from the rear of the Pilbeam. New lens is good but to be honest I was getting on better with the D50 than I am with the D200.

Cheers Ray, great shoot of the 26, what's the verdict on the new paint scheme?? I reckon they both look great with the new 07 livery + it makes it a darn sight easier to see which is which from the pitwall which always helps!

Are the results available online anywhere? MST doesn't seem to have them yet.

I thought the new colour scheme was fantastic matethumbup. The bright colours with the silver works very well. Like you say, it also helps the team and fans to recognise each car.

Finally uploaded my photos;

I'm not that happy overall, I had a bit of an off day, but there are some I'm quite pleased with! It was getting very dark by the end of the last race. I'm afraid I managed to somehow miss the number 26 Marcos, but I got 24!

Taffyracer, I'll send you an email with what I managed to make out of that podium photo! It looked almost black when I put it on the computer but I've managed to get a reasonable picture out of it!

I reckon I must have seen you at Priory then - did you have a big D200 neck strap?

Marc, yeah it was a tough day! I notice your best pics are all from the early morning qualifying which I mostly missed. As soon as the actual races started it became really tough due to the lack of light. I'm not experienced enough to get the most out of those conditions and made a couple of setting mistakes on my camera - cue write off of couple hundred photos

As for the cars, this was the first time I have seen the Norma out and it's a really pretty car and highly impressed me on the track! Other cars that impressed me were the Team Wireless Lotus, that ran very well considering the horsepower it was up against. And someone in the black Clio (didn't catch the name) that was giving 110% into Maggots in ruddy conditions lap after lap - great stuff!

I certainly did mate. Stayed at priory for 90% of the day, I had my car parked there so I was able to keep jumping back in it to escape the cold.

Did you any of you get photos or see me (car 39 Marcos Mantis)trying to pass the Marcos LM600 (car 17) on the outside of Priory? I had been going well picking up places until that incident. And thats a first for me: a 540 deg spin! Still, it was mighty tricky conditions (not least for the spectators!) and I got going again and finished; albeit with bent front and rear uprights (entry understeer followed by snap oversteer!).
