Thanks for your kind thoughts Rob! We had a "bit of a weekend" really. A few problems in practice and a big problem in qualifying meant we only started 7th. More importantly, I was very concerned we had not sorted the reliability.
Sitting in the collecting area was a nightmare. The drizzle started and it was obvious to me that we were on the wrong tyres and the wrong settings. Congratulations to the EERC for delaying the start. It was the only sensible thing to do and I doubt the BRSCC would have done the same!
Our problem was that the Dunlop wets are fine for heavy rain but no good for light drizzle. It was miles too slippery for slicks and just right for intermediates. Trouble is - we dont have any intermediates and Dunlop didn't either! The net result was two sets of wets destroyed and 13th overall.
The upside was that the car ran fine, was certainly quick enough (we led for 30 minutes) and reliability was "OK". We need to get the right tyres, sort out our pit stops and work on reliability as it is still marginal.
Still, it was great to be out, great to race against everyone and I'm looking forward to the next one!
Oh, and our powerlogger was interrogated after the race! Seems like we can run a little more power!!!! Actually, I think there is plenty more to do with the powerlogger thing. We know our CdA as we have been in the wind tunnel but how other people as supposed to know it I dont know. There is a "coast down" method but thats open to all sorts of "adjustment" so lets wait and see what James says. We were well in with our power but it was wet and both John and I were "careful" with the throttle so we shall have to see. We believe we are bang on the money with power and it will be interesting to see what the DL1 says.
Great to see so many flashlights going off around the circuit - many thanks to all you photographers out there and also many, many thanks to the marshalls. We cant go racing without them.
Until next time,
Richard.

The fire which seriously damaged the black Ferrari 360 was bad, it came to a halt just in front of me and the marshalls had to use about 7 extinguishers to put it out!
Yes, you were certainly on top of the incident Ray.
Excellent shot mate, except for the fact I am in it! Was shooting from the public side of the fence so I could spend more time enjoying the racing. Unfortunately that meant the fence was in the way when I was trying to get a shot of the fire!

Mt Cherry`s lucky lens strikes again ! What the hell is it with you & cars on fire Paul. Let me have a list of the races you`re not going to this season so we can amend our calender !

No luck involved. He kindly drove an extra lap in flames so that we could all get a photo.

Let me have a copy of the list too, please, Henry.
Were you at Donington last year, Paul?

I would like to echo the earlier sentiments on here and thank all the marshals and officials this weekend.
It was so refreshing to see common sense being applied during qualifying and the race and that yellow flags were used in preference to a pace car or full course red.
Mr Chamberlain, it was a pleasure to share a garage with you. Your team were great value even when you were having difficulties and your car is a true work of art. I'm sorry for calling it a Flymo when it came back covered in grass clippings on Friday

Guy

Thanks Guy. Glad to see that the only water spilt was in the tea and not your car! Its always good to share a garage with a good team. We all need help from time to time and we needed it at the weekend!
Congrats on the result by the way - we will just have to clean our act up for next time!
Cheers,
Richard.

Have managed to sort out a Thai round near Patong for you Richard. Scenery is lovely, entry is £900 per tem and includes 6 err..... helpers per team to do with as you wish. Bit of a mixed bag I`m afraid and no refunds if you helpers turn out to have an adam`s apple. A bit hard to police when you`re dealing with a large number at a time.
And no. I speak not from experience !!!!!
