Hello Andrew,
I saw you had an entry at GD in a surprisingly big class.
I will not be doing this national round as I am taking the 21 up to Prescott for the French themed meeting for some fun.
I normally go along to the bank holiday race days at Combe or Thruxton, but I've got the car in bits again trying to finish off some jobs that I had to put on hold due the engine problems I had in March.
Good luck at Combe and at GD,
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NICK F,
I want to see no less than a class win at GD, as there is no Les or Colin.

Rich

Looks like Andrew has a point there Nick. You seem to have frightened off the Fords so perhaps it is time to make some extra room in the trophy cupboard.

Yes that is annoying isn’t it. In my class the 911 is on Holiday but one of the Datsuns is back. At the last meeting I was glumly studying my and other peoples times and Simon happened by. I asked why I was so slow and he advised “to go faster put your bl**dy foot down more” it does look however as if what you need is another set of driven wheels to level the competition where all I need is to replace the driver.

We need to discourage Colin from upgrading his licence, otherwise we'll get no more 'holidays'.

Steve - you don't need to replace the driver, just swap the car for a 4.5 Tuscan racer...and you'll be fine.

Tried that route, had a nice road legalised one all lined up even had a new trophy cabinet prepared to handle the embarrassing quantity of glassware but the list of cars eligible in class 6 specifically exclude the racer. Seems that one turned up before and was rather quick.

Rats.

Looks like you may have to follow Simon's advice then - although if my car were as nice as yours I doubt very much that I'd be keen to drive it in any more of a 'committed' fashion than you already do.

Aha, committed, is that the term, "I must be more committed".

To be honest "I must break later" instead of breaking and then driving to the corner would be more effective. Perhaps it should be "I must be more committed to breaking later".

That’s intriguing Richard, you been reading the Blue Book or something ? Is there going to be some controversy ?

I would suggest that it may be worth searching for some in car video clips to look at ahead of driving it for the first time.

Richard. I think I have found what you have in mind..

Presumably it is that new ruling in the Blue Book that was missing from some copies. L1.1.something, All 4 wheel drive, Datsun 240z and white Porsche cars will be equipped only with reverse gear or carry 4 bags of cement and a pallet of house bricks. That should even things up a bit.

I Wish
I was thinking of combining/hitching all our cars together and making a 600hp 6x12 TVRELIANTurbo but it worked out that it wouldn't get round Karousel and would need a paddock space 20ft widenuts

Hum interesting idea, perhaps two cars back to back would be better, then you would have a 4x8 with rear wheel steering. Another idea is the extendable timing strut. Snug against the car at the start and then automatically extends on a 20ft pole as you approach the finish.

entered but had to cancel :-( but will pop along to spectate if its dry.
as for hoping ist dry, if its wet itll be a nightmare as it was resurfaced last week and all the oil will still be present from the tar for a guess.
