Te point system was fine ast it was in the 90's - 9 6 4 3 2 1, it is balls NOW - consistancy is crap - you have to want to push for the win / higher placings. (all this shit of points to 8th is a crock and the 2 pt diff of the top 2 just COBBLERS).
it was 10-6-4-3-2-1 nerd It was a far better system though and rewarded the winning drivers much more and allowed them to catch up without relying on the leader having failures or crashing, like alonso and schumacher last year.
Nope, it was definately 9 for the win.
http://formula1db.com/About/AboutF1.php 90's was 10 previous was 9

The Geeks that love all that Strategy, tyre changes. fuel would hate it - i.e. it would be great. All in the same GP2+ carswink F1 team what a waste of money, time, etc, etc.

Have to ask really why so many Hamilton haters out there? Weren’t you proud of the fact that there was a British driver on the podium at Silverstone, its been a long time since that has happened
I think its more to do with ITV's coverage of Lewis Hamilton as being the second coming of Christ rather than anything to do with Lewis himself. plus all the muppets(Jude law,the Beckhams,p diddly) who have been sucked into the ITV F1 hyperbole in Hamilton's wake.

Just read the whole post, what I cannot work out is there are so many people slating F1 that must be watching it because they know so much! If I do not like something I do not watch it, if I don't watch I can't comment on it because I have not seen it!

Short answer:
This is only the beginning - just you wait and see!

Scotsmen don't watch F1 with kilt wrapped round eyes, so there biggrin

We could always go back to the points systems whereby you had to count the points in the first half of the season, then the points in the second half, then you had to drop points if you were too succesful, etc etc.

Ryder and Blundell can't explain/understand anything now, can you imagine them trying to work out all the permutations if they had that system? laugh

Naughty of Autosport to give Lewis prominence on the cover this week, instead of the race winner.

why? He is the world championship leader, and he is british, autosport is a british publication for the british reading public after all. wink
