Sorry to hijack the threads folks but as a fellow PH member, (used to post quite a bit under the login Paceracing but haven't posted since I sold my S Series some time ago and it seems to have gone inactive) I also happen to be the Sales Manager at Pi Research selling a range of loggers and dashes for all abilities and budgets and supply Hillclimbers, Sprinters, Karters, Touring Cars, A1GP, F1, etc, etc, etc..
I'd love to help if you are interested.......
Thanks,
Jason.

That's a shame, it's the type of series we would have liked to work closely with. I had a look at the regs and wasn't aware that there was a 'spec' data logger for the series, it's very unusual for a series to mandate something that doesn't directly enhance performance. Maybe next time around though...
Thanks again,
Jason.
Thanks again,
Jason.

Jason Hi, Thanks for the interest, I'll try and have a chat with you at some point.
The outline regs specify the DL1, as we are using the data from them to police the Power to weigh figures in some of the classes. hence having to mandate which device.
If you have a product that could do something similar I'd be interested to discuss it with you
Cheers

Do we have a list yet on who will and will not have to use them, may help the buy group a bit.
I would have thought the only car's exempt would be 2.8 12v cars in group C,
And NA cars under 4ltr in B.
If not then you will have to run the BHP per Ton Limit and have to run a Data logger.
Just my personal opinion

Jason, what Pi device would you recommend is suitable for achieving what Graham has stated we need i.e. as a minimum for the power to weight ratio ? And can it provide any of the additional useful data that the DL1 provides.I'd love to help if you are interested.......
Thanks,
Jason.
Most importantly, what is the price of your recommendation because as I've said on another thread, I'm on a tight budget so cannot contemplate circa £600 for a DL1.
I hope the door isn't closed on the draft regs on this subject just yet !
Richard
The DL1 is set in stone. All of the drivers will need to be operating the same system. Quite a few have the DL1 from the TVRCC Challenge Cup days so there is experience of using them for policing PTW. If I'm brutally honest the cost of a logger pales into insignificance compared to what you'll spend racing. I've always run on a tight budget too, when I started in 04 I bought a logger because the regs required it but I only tested twice (learning the circuits in qually became a necessity)
